Fouled Plugs
Fouled Plugs
Fouled out the cheap ($.97) plugs the other day...
Just put the 60lb injectors in and have not got the tune down so I was trying to drive the car as little as possible.
Wife had the Malibu so I took the 'balt to an appointment. It turned out to be a very bad call, the balt is no where near tunned and trafic was pretty bad on the high-way...by the time I got home the car sounded muffled and did notrev as freely.Wife saw black smoke (white at first she said) coming out the tail pipe.
So I think I have a cloged Cat. (only 2 weeks old). Any Ideas what might be up? I do not want to mess with the tune any more till I know what is up.

Get yourself a good set of platinum tipped spark plugs. <bosch platinum plugs are shitty>Mainly because the higher voltage capacity of todays ignition systems, and higher compression ratio's can cause cheaper priced and cheaper quality spark plugs to foul out very soon after installation. My opinion is AC delco,or denso platinum tipped plugs should do you better....Change out those .97 cent plugs. Your plugs may have fouled out do to your bigger injectors, and not being able to handle the higher spark capacity that your coils output....
Picked up some NGK BKR7es and gapped them down to .34. I seem to have a lot of build up of carbon for running so rich for so long (only 4.5k miles on the car), and need ideas to get rid of it.
Is your pcm presently stock?
It sounds like your injectors may be a little to big,or back the fuel pressure off a little....Or with the tune they can program the computer how to run,by knowing what type of mods that you have.....Remember that every time that you change something major such as injectors, turbo, s/c's,it always helps getting tunes, that way alot of times situations like this can sometimes be avoided....
