So today i was looking in my engine bay and saw a part that has becoming disconnected from everything. The part number is12597567 and google says it some sort of valve??? What is this part really and do I need to take my car in RIGHT RIGHT now or can it wait a bit as its not that important. I'll upload a photo of it tomorrow. Can someone please tell me what this is and where it goes???

It is the purge solenoid. It is mounted on the driver's side of the engine right on top. There are 2 tubes that connect to it one that goes to the evap cannister and on that goes to the engine. If the valve is not connected then you have a vacuum leak, which is not good.

 

its weird i took a look and that part is hooked up... musta broke off for the previous owner and he got it replaced. the old one was buried under the intake pipe.

 

wel, I guess you don't need to know that you can get it from GM Parts Direct for $22.12, plus shipping.
