Since summer is here (for now), I figured I'd remind you goons to drain the dexcool in your INTERCOOLER (leave the engine coolant alone) and run distilled water and an additive such as Redline water wetter to keep the pump lubricated. Simply remove the hose on the pump with a pair of vice-grip pliers, drain the coolant, replace the hose, add bottle of WW to the system and then top off the rest with h2o. Bleed as required.
Secondly, there ARE liquids out there with a higher specific heat capacity than water. Who wants to be the guinea pig and run a mixture of ammonia and water in their IC?
Oh, as for results, my completely stock intercooler system with a 3" supercharger pulley runs ~20 degrees hotter than ambient on a 98 degree day. A little more if I am sitting still for a while. So it definitely makes a big difference.

Mostly. It doesn't heatsoak after a WOT blast, though. Unlike dexcool...
The **** are you doing up at 4:40AM, anyway?

if you want real cooling power look up some of the nano particle suspended liquids.
they had something on discovery about it so i looked it up. a ethylene glycol/h20 mix with suspended carbon in it had a 45% better cooling ability then the mix withount

Interestingggg. Not that I need this but that would be sick if it really did work. I guess if it's on discovery channel it's legit. Someone should do it and post their results!
Hmm, interesting... Is this available as an additive or something?
ya i use to be around 120-130 at wot on a 70*F day. now that its like 85* im getting like 160IAT2. i have a S3 HE, dualpass, on a 2.8. my pump still working at idle, but i dont know at WOT

Is the pump actually working, or are you just seeing vibrations in the fluid caused by the vibrations of the engine?
A lot of people tend to mix those two up and think they have a working pump when in reality it's dead. The best way to tell is to stick a straw into the neck and see if it moves with the flow. If it sits still, you're FUCKED IN THE ASS.
Or just use HPT to turn it on with the car off. It'll sound like a sump pump or pool filter switching on.

...but that doesn't seem like a good idea.
Maybe I'll do it in the VeeDub.
