meh .... I use an 80/20 mix almost year round (spring, summer, fall). It still maintains some freeze protection (down to 16*F) for those cold spring/fall nights, and my IAT2's hover around 15-20*F over ambient while cruising on a warm-hot day. I wanted the best cooling mixture while not worrying about having to change it out twice a year.

My IAT2's are usually +/- 1 when compared to ambient.

But I'm about to swap out the Coolant in the VeeDub. I think I'm going to run straight water for a little while to try and clean the system out (it looks pretty fkn nasty in the overflow tank).

I use an 80/20 mix as I mentioned, and my IAT2's are fantastic.

Straight water + 1 bottle of water wetter is prob a little better, but at least i dont have to change my coolant again once it starts to get colder

Today when I checked my iats I got 94* iat1 and at the top of 3rd frol a 40 roll it was 142*... I got about a 80/20 water/coolant mix. I might drain some out and throw some watter wetter in there.

They average 15-20*F over ambient while crusing, and don't go above 135*F-140*F @ WOT.

To REALLY notice a difference in IAT2's and how they recover... replace the tiny filler neck with a nice, large reservoir. AKA The HatrickStu mod.

Made a HUGE difference in the way my IAT2 behaved.

It depends on how cold you're talking. Since you are in UT... I'm going to ASSUME it gets fkn cold there.

If that water freezes in your Manifold... **** will break... and it won't be cheap to fix.

That's why a lot of people run mixes. 80% Water w/ 20% Dexcool... that makes the freezing point something like 18*. Personally... I wouldn't risk it year round in a very cold climate.
