G85 cobalt small build up

here is what i am looking to do with my new G85....

please feel free to place your input and advice!

cobalt-addiction stage 4 upgrade
-60# injectros
-and harness
-plugs
-2.6" pulley
-....
Injen CAI
doing a custom cat back exhaust system (2.5" piping)
installing my stage 1 comp cams
port polish head and 3 angle valve job

ok now my questions...
i heard the pistons cant take more then 310 hp... is that true at all?
if so is it just the rings? or do i need to replace the pistons also?
will a set of cams for a 2.2 motor work with the 2.0/2.4 motors too?

If your going to be pushing the pistons to 310hp.... You'll wanna go up to a 3.0" exhaust.

piston #4 blew on my car with 280 to the wheels. But i think some of it had to do with the tune.

With a 2.6" your gonna need some cooling mods in there too and you still wont be at 310HP

just a few points from the kitty:

Don't go below a 2.7" pulley (get a cobra h/e and a dual pass if you want the 2.7")
The pistons can take your abuse with proper fueling don't worry about the 310 power limit, its false.
There is absolutely no need for a 3" exhaust
also, those cams won't work in your lsj

meow.

no need eh?

hmmmm i like mine damnit.

the tune has more to do with pistons going blamo. dyno numbers and street numbers are usually wildly different.

p.s. cylinder pressure is what kills the ring lands, and people doing 150 mph runs without some way to monitor egt temps.

i was thinking about doing 3" piping on the exhaust, but then i wasnt sure if it was needed... but i guess with the forced induction and the high amount of hp it is needed.

also for cooling i was going to get meth injection.

so the cat back will be 3" piping
and we will have meth injection kit

Don't waste your time/money on 3" cat-back w/o swapping that downpipe too!
