Gains from 2.7 too?

Is there any gains in Hp/Tq from going from a 2.7 too a 2.6? How much different is there in heat? I have meth and a large front mount heat exchanger.

no tune or anything? you wont gain anything except an empty wallet if if you go to a 2.6 with no tune. even now your wearing thin with no tune. many people dont like to go below 2.7, just start adding other things, like cams, retainers, etc kinda build it better...

Yeah you'll probably last 1000 miles but that's about it...but not completely true. You will gain power but dropping a tenth is maybe good for an additional 1lb of boost so less than 5hp/lbs torque. But the point is...you're going to get a ton of heat and stress on the engine.

Oh sorry I forgot too mention I will be tuning for it! Is there a big difference with hp/tq with the 2.6 vs 2.7. I have 60lbs on the car as well.

^agreed

you'd prob gain little to no hp, and a very slight bit of down low torque but you'll be fighting even more heat

You'll gain some whp and wtq..... but with the added heat your car will start yanking timing making those gains miniscule to non existant!

What about going from a 2.8" to a 2.7" and getting re-tuned for it..? Worth the $60 for a pulley shipped?

Well if you have 60's cooling and tuning then you should be in better condition. But for the most part people run 60's with 2.8's and 2.7's but then you get the odd guy who throws a 2.5 on there without a problem. What happens depend on the tune and the conditions in the place where you live (ie altitude).

To be safe, tune it a little richer than you ordinarily would.

I'm running a 2.8" with 60's and have plenty of room to grow!

Well I live in Canada (Ontario) Hamilton its about 25-27 degrees in the summer with spring and fall about 15-20 degrees and cold in the winter. I drive the car all yr long. How rich would you tune the car for 11.5 air/fuel or so?
