gauge question...help please.

Does anyone have a autometer Cobalt series Air/fuel gauge installed in there car?
I installed mines and apparently its suppose to light up blue like in this picture below but mine does not...anyone have this problem?

only helpful comments prefered!

Honestly, you should have gotten a wideband if you're trying to get a acurate a/f ratio.

no mine is just narrowband, meaning its like 1/4 as accurate as a wideband.

i must need blue backlighting!!!!!!!!!

could be just one bad one in the bunch or something unless i hooked it up wrong...

red to ignition fuse
black to ground
last wire to purple/white stripe wire from ECU

Has nothing to do with auto-meter.

Like said, a narrowband sensor is made to read to a limitation...it goes of a stoich of 14.7 a/f but it can't tell you how lean or how rich you are to a "T".

You'd need to add a aditional wideband sensor and a wideband gauge with it (digital gauge) to read what you are running.

i know you said helpful comments only but that gauge is not going to be anywhere near accurate as the AEM wideband

one the digital air/fuel lights up...like the green/orange/red the part that bounces. but its suppose to have a blue backlight.

maybe they advertised the picture of it wrong on the website. As long as everything works your good, but call them up from whoever you bought it from and ask why its like that and see if you can get the color you want.

i dont want to get a wideband, because i dont want to void my warrenty. but what wire can i tap into on the pcm or whatever its called, to get some kind of reading. do you have any pictures or any instuctions?

i actually had this gauge when i first bought my car. ok so it aint no tuning gauge but it was cool looking so w.e., anyways there are 2 models for this gauge one with and another without the backlight. you obviously got the one without the backlight. did u correctly install the wires?
