Getting Staged Soon
Getting Staged Soon
i'm going stage 2 soon (more or less) by using OTT's stage 2 pulley system and 42 lb lucas injectors. my question is that i noticed that the 42's lucas makes requires the harness as well but i can't find anything about it in the GM instructions. is this hard? is lucas 42's the stage 2 42 equivalent. what are the differences here?
i'm very excited about getting staged, but i want to know everything is right.

i would, but i don't have any cooling mods. i'll upgrade later.
i bought the harness with all of my parts, so my plan is this. get staged this year, i also want to save and get the GM exhaust. after that i'll get the h/e from ott and maybe the progressive meth, then i'll move up to 60's. i'm using trifecta as my tuning option.

i plan on doing 60's and a 2.8, but later on. but back on topic, this should be an easy install right? it looks easy, but a couple of people i know say they really hate installing injectors. they say they're easy to break.
When I recieved all my parts back from the stock set up there was no harness in the box. I just assumed that the GM stage 2 injectors didn't need a different harness. I also think GM puts 42.5 lbs injectors.
Unless it's a cost issue then there is no need for 42's. Having larger injectors won't hurt anything but it's there when you begin to upgrade your mods. Don't forget the tune required for this project. If you get the 42's or the 60's a tune is still required.

60s has no effect on gas milage. If all you do is change injectors, there is NO power or NO gas difference if all else stays the same on the tune.
They say you need cooling mods due to the 2.8 pulley, not the 60 pound injectors.
You dont really need cooling mods. They are good to have, but not a neccessity.
Injectors easy to break...? Injectors are the easiest part... getting the pulley system on is a bitch.

that's what i thought. fortunately, we're having a machine shop put on the hub.
hmm, so my next question is what is an average time for stage 2? 0-60 and 1/4 mile?

might give ya 1/2 sec vs stock, that's what my research shows. cooling mods aren't necessary, this is true... but they do help keep the knock retard at bay. something about knocking during WOT and having the computer kick back timing bothers me.
a h/e and the piping for option b is maybe $150-$200. well worth it.
