The RSX reflash may be more than ours. They have VTEC which would make things more complex. Plus it's an Acura, a "luxury" car.

The reflash for my z-24 when I got the GM supercharger kit cost me $50. It took about ten minutes. Unless things have changed in two years I cant see it costing that much more for the reflash part, not talking about the rest of the kit of course.

I could see the dealers being supplied with the reflash data and the customers receive vouchers from GM for the upgrade so they'd have to bring it in to be installed.

Could we possibly bring our cars into the dealer with a "problem" and they would reflash the computer with the latest software or will the software for the Stage kit's be totally different from the software they would put into a SS without the Stage kit? hmmm

I think your best bet if you are worried about cost is to make really good friends with a gm tec and you should be set.

i have heard alot of people talking about the stage 1 and stage 2 tunes being the same with the stage 2 haveing differnt pully. it seems to me that 1 and 2 would each have diffenent tunes. do you guys know something i dont?

It was in an article posted in a previous thread on the topic (one that I can't find at the moment). There is only going to be ONE tune, that's in stage one. That tune will also handle the smaller pulley that comes with stage 2. Personally I think they're doing it to keep the cost of the two stages roughly equal so that you don't have one that's really cheap and then the other is significantly more expensive.

Even if there is two reflashes, after I buy stage one and I go to buy stage 2 at a later time, I'm not paying for another reflash cause from what I've gathered a reflash is only hooking a reprograming tool up to the port and letting it do it's thing. As for manual labor during a reflash, there isn't too much . Besides, youshould only get charged one reflash if you imediately go stage 2 anyway.

The Staged kit reflashes will only be available at the dealer. They are reportedly going to require a VCI number obtained via dealership phone call to TCSC (Techline) and will require both the VIN of he vehicle AND the unique serial number from the Stage kit itself. The kit will be registered against the VIN of the vehicle, (so that future reflashes for any OTHER concerns do not overwrite the kit-modified addresses within the calibration) If the kit is removed, another VCI will be required to put it back to stock.

I was kind of hoping to install the stage kit myself. Half the fun of having a tuner car is doing the work yourself.

They should sell you a little programmer like hypertech or just another ECU like dodge does.

Do we know for a fact that it will have to go into the dealership????? Why would they say the kits could be installed by the owner if they really need to go into the dealership to have the main upgrade "reflash" done? Guess we might know today or within the next couple days.
