OMG!!! What a difference!!! I could not stop spinning the tires, It's wet out. This engine woke up, especially in the upper RPM. Cruising in second and punched it, through my and my passangers' heads back.
Took about 2 hrs to install, the hub was a very tight fit.
YES, the redline is right around 7k, more like 6800 on my tach.
Sorry, I didn't watch my boost gauge, will do on the way home.

NO kidding??!!! So, it's true, 7K redline! I hope this is true, and not that it went to 7K only because you're spinning......

I knew 7K was a pipe dream from GM, since you said "more like 6800" and knowing the stock tach is in accurate, i'd say the rev limiter was untouched or maybe 200 rpm if at all. We need at least 7K+ with this powerband and gear spread to go anywhere. Oh well, back to waiting a couple more weeks for pcm access

I think that if wheel hop wasn't a huge issue the clutch would be much longer life because you can mitigate wheel hop with slipping the clutch.

Exactly. Plus we all know with as bad as the wheel hop is in this car that it was not built as a drag car.....

the reflash ups the rev limiter to 6750, so we get an extra 250 rpms.

Does anyone know, Are the poly mounts helping with the wheel hop, that would deffinatly help with wear and tear on our cars regarless of driving styles. Sertainly would make it easyier to feather so clutch wear would be reduced.

Couldn't tell you. But i don't think you can blame the clutch. This is my first manual, i have over 10K miles and i do screw up shifting every now and then and my clutch is fine. I have launched my car maybe 3 times and never powershifted as i know at least a few people on here do. So unless you are doing something very rough to that clutch you may just have truly gotten a bad clutch.

BTW, yes i do drive my car hard, once i know i have traction in first.

Considering my rpm gauge shows 6300 rpm every time I've hit the limiter, then if his is behind like mine he'd show 6800 when he's actually running 7000. Sounds about right to me...
