I am going straight for the Stage 2 upgrade. Hopefully the pacesetter exhaust will be out by summer so I have have that in addition to the stage 2.

You guys have to have that on for the dyno day at evolution!

You will use the exact same dyno you used for your 234whp pull ?

Yep, I'm going to buy a 3.14" from billet flow for when my stage 1 gets here. pulley only $115 say $60 for install.

Stage 1: 425
Billet Pulley: 115
Install costs: 130 (est)

total: $670

Probably saves you like $150. This is what i'm gonna do anyway.

This will be interesting to see how it stacks up to the GM stage 1 upgrade.

I know the ECU upgrades are different between 1 and 2, I wonder if you can ask for the stage 2 ecu upgrade when you bring it in.

Stage 1 installed!!!

I just got teh call from my buddy's dealership today and the kit was in!!! I left work early to get the ecm reflashed The tech flashed the ecm "under the table" and the whole process took about 1/2 hour. He had to call into GM and speak to an actual person to get the recal uploaded to his Tech 2. This is the wierd part, the GM person asked the tech whether the car was being flashed with the 230 hp kit or the 245 hp kit My buddy says STAGE 2!!! So is there a different recal? I babied the car home and changed the injectors in 1/2 hour and now I'm having dinner and gonna rip it later tonight. Initial impression is the car doesn't feel a whole lot faster up to 4K rpm but I've been running a 3.15 pulley for 3 weeks now so maybe it isn't as dramatic. I may be going to the track this weekend so if I do I'll post times. I'm gonna make a few runs with the 3.15 then the 2.9 goes on full time and the 2.7 will be strip only.

that's what I thought, but it seems like everyone is getting different prices. shouldn't they be the same at any GM dealer?

Those of you that have seen / heard lower install times, I would appreciate the name (and number if readily available) of the dealers you've talked to. That way, I can at least go to this guy and say, "look here, they'll do it for half as much."

Thanks.

Well that is cool! buy stage one, get a pulley, have a buddy to get STage 2 recalibartion and presto - you have stage 2 capability!

You probably wont notice much of a difference until the upper RPMS since you already had the pulley. Keep us informed on how it goes.

Exactly what I felt during the 5 min drive, I wasn't able to get it above 4K in my area so it didn't feel thet dramatic. I'm gonna slap on the 2.9 friday to give the car a bit of adjustment time.

What is the reflash part # in the Stage 1 instruction book? Just want to see if the reflash pn#s are the same in both books.

I am not so sure that they are the same. In the instructions it says "apply Stage 2 decal over Stage 1 decal". The tech that flashed my car was asked by GM which kit was going into my car the 230 hp kit or the 245 hp kit. He said Stage 2 as I was bugging him to say that and the flash was uploaded to his Tech 2. Why would they need to know which kit it is if the flash is the same?

I purchased Stage 1 and the reflash was done as a side job and I did the injectors myself (easy as pie). My car is a 2005 and the part# on the bottom of every page is 12597997 and the "calibration data file" is 12607644. Whatever the original file was supposed to be was flashed with the 245 hp Kit reflash whatever the hell that is. He told the GM person on the phone that I had Stage 2 so I have no idea what is in my car now

The instructions that come with the kit say when you install stage 2 you only have to have the computer reflashed if you didn't have Stage 1 installed already. Plus there isn't two part numbers for the reflashes, just one for each car. My guess is that they ask what stage it is for warranty reasons since the warranty on the stage kits is initiated by the phone call.
