Look at the cost of a flywheel compared to the cost\hassle of going in twice instead of once when you see the better gains from a lighter flywheel.

I skipped out on a flywheel. The main reason is that launching the car is hard enough and it will be harder with the lighter flywheel.

Flywheel isn't NECESSARY per se, but it'll give you quicker/cleaner revs. Replacing the clutch is a time consuming process so if you're already working the clutch, it'll only take an extra 20 mins to install the flywheel aswell saving you another 3-5 hours of shop time.

EDIT: Vic beat me to it

I get 13.9mpg as we speak, I say its more than my driving style. I'm really hoping the Rev it Up reflash fixes this a little. I go there this Sunday.

After reading this though, I'm about to cancel my appt. and order GM Stage2 right now!!!

7k redline, yummmmmmm!!!

The document GM had to file with California said Stage 2 would produce a max of 14.5 psi.

so what, if i do get a flywheel ill hit the red line that much quicker, and ill have a bit more of a problem launching, but on the plus side its cleaner, faster revs....dotn know what exactly that means but you see my point or am i dead wrong, dunno to much about clutches, flywheels, trannies, i just wanna make sure i know all the facts b4 i purchase something. what are the main pros and cons of a lighter flywheel and is it worth it for me to get it, my car will have stage 2, intake, exhaust, motor mount, poly contol arm bushings, i have lsd aswell.

14.5 is safe. That's what GM cares about. It's all good though. I want my car to last for a while so 3.0 sounds good.

The only known diff is the smaller supercharger pulley in stage2. The way the kit explanations read on gmpartsdirect makes me think it is 2 diff flashes. I think the only way we will truly know is if some one actually buys stage1 and the 1-->2 upgrade and gets a second reflash with the upgrade

You ordered stage2. which is everything. the 500 one is just injectors and a computer flash. 800 is a pulley and belt (most likely another flash). What you ordered does everything at once...

I am fine going off the 241 or so hp GM reports which we assume is based off the stock 205. This is a 17.5% increase. Put that on top of say 225 stock gives you about 265 hp (at the wheels). This sounds like a good number to me for a daily driver so thats why i went ahead and ordered.
