gm stage 1 supporting mods.

well just took my lap top to my cousin who works as a computer tech, to get checked out and completly cleared so i can use HPT vcm suite once i get it back. im ordering the gm wheel hop kit, gm honed manafold, gm performance clutch, and ingalls torque dampner and possiably the gm stage 1. when the gm stage 1 is installed, does it come with a reflash code like the gm stage 2? the reason im just doing the stage 1 is because i can slowly learn the whole tuning process, which will take time i know, but i want to slowly work with it and learn before i start modding. i already have a injen intake, gm cat abck and im also ordering a AEM a/f ratio guage for tuning. if i just kep the mods that i posted above on the car, and not change the pulley size, are there any supporting mods that i need to do such as cooling?

No cooling mods needed until you get to a 2.9-2.8 or smaller. I personally feel like you are wasting your money by going with all GM parts if you are going to get a custom tune and void your warranty anyways. I'd say that 99% of people that get a GM stage kit (myself included) wish they just went aftermarket.

yes, i can see that gm parts are more expensive, but im looking at aking it my daily driver with a lil more power. im aware that if i reflash my ECM it will void the warrenty but i also do not want to do any cooling mods, but maybe soon down the road i may add water/meth injection, but i just dont want to do dual pass and or option B or any of that. also if i build my own stage kit, idk what to run, heres what id like to try tho, 3.0 pulley, stage 2 belt, and #60 injectors, but idk waht i should do for spark plugs? 1 step colder?

i think you should get ALL the parts from gm other then the stage kit. go to zzp for that and save yourself a few bucks. go with a 2.9 pulley. i hope your getting all the GM parts from CED... if not please give me all your money so i can buy you the gm parts for cheaper and save you a few bones

ok, so i have made my final decision as to what i am doing to my car perfomance wise. and yes the parts will be from CED.

AEM wide band guage.
GM honed manifold.
GM upgraded clutch
ingalls torque dampner
zzp 3.0 pulley with #60 injectors.
GM stage 2 belt.

actually just did some reading and some say and so does zp that a 3.0 needs dual plate. so i think im just gonna keep the pulley and injectors the same. once i get my hp tuners kit ill tune for the intake/exhaust mods i got now. sorry bout goingback and forth so much, its just i want to do some stuff, but i dont wanna go far and have to do alot of supporting mods. i just want a nice clean ride.

dont waste your money on the gm honed manifold its just sub-par to all the other choices. get the badmab headers its 189 bucks and really worth it.
BAD-MAB.com

also if your going with a 3.0 pulley you dont need 60's get 42 or 42.5 injectors, and you dont need a dual pass with a 3.0 but having a dual pass is always good reguardless of what your running, more cool is more cool if you get what im saying.

he is sticking with mostly gm parts if you havent noticed... which is actually SMART. needless to say badmab is awesome DEFFF. but you cant go wrong with Parts from your own vehicle mfg. unless its kia or something along those lines. GM isnt just some b.s. car company that has high school drop-outs creating and building their products let alone their performance products.

grab a 2.9 pulley. its what im on and my iat temps are low even thru the summer. the only time you need cooling mods is if your at the track all the time and racing around. in which your like me, its the DD, you want some go fast parts to have fun with time to time. your not in boost EVERYTIME you drive your car.

oh p.s. have you checked to see if your intercooler pump is working properly? 9 times out of 10 the stock one is shot 2 weeks after it rolls of the show-room floor lol. its cheap and easy to replace also. i did it in 10 minutes if not less...

to check to see if it works, turn on your car (since your on stock tune) pop the hood, open the black cap thats directly in front of the supercharger/TB. if the coolant is flowing visibly, congrads it works. if no movement, you need a new one.

and dont worry it doesnt matter if you been driving forever or not. the coolant doesnt blow up all crazy and steam as opposed to the radiator coolant. it may rise just a little bit when you first open but its not gonna overflow.

I've been on 3.0 pulley for almost a year now. You really don't need additional cooling unless you constantly beat on it...

But then again its always nice to have better cooling, but certainly not a requirement.

Here's my setup. Cheap and very fun.

Zzp s3 h.e. 220
#60s zzp. 250
Ebay 2.8 pulley 50
Used gmpp cat back 150
Tune 200
K&n cai. New on ebay 100.

Bern on this for about 4 years. The car loves it and I have zero issues. I can count on one hand how many days I didnt beat on it

I did the gm stage for 900. Injectors needed upgraded to support their own kit and car ran rougher than my custom tune

DIY 1,000 and fun power
Gmpp. 1500 not knowing what your missing

Choice is yours tho, id suggest research before you buy, I wish I would have
