GM stage 2 questions.

I had the mind to buy the OTTP Stage 2, and do it myself. I'd also have to buy a tune, correct?

I don't know to much about the cobalts coming from someone who used to own an SRT4.

Would it be better for me to take it to a GM dealer, and have them put on the GM stage 2, with tune?

If so what would be the price difference?

I also have a Corsa Sport catback sitting here, is that good to go for the GM stage 2?

Would I need to change the clutch?

Anything else I would possibly need to know, please and thank you!

I love this site, I have gotten great help so far.

And to those who answered my latest post on my problems with my second gear pull, it just stopped doing it out of no where? lol
thanks, though.

It starts out at 250$, and then you click " Buy " and start adding cooling mods, changing this, adding that, and shipping. It comes close.. to 600 or 700..

Which is why i'm trying to figure all this out.
What i'd need to go with GM stage 2 and everything.
anyone else?

Well, with the Corsa exhaust. That's fine with Stock everything else right? Then once I add a stage 2 kit, will I need anything for it other than a tune to go along with the exhaust?

OTTP's is the better value for the money. GM Stage 2 for just injectors, pulley, belt and tune is well above 700$ without install by the dealer.

Plus most dealers have no clue what the hell they're doing on the SS/SC, so they'll take longer than their book says. Dealers are also poorly equipped for dealing with the stock pulley, so they usually end up having to rig something up in order to take it off and press the stage 2 hub on. Not exactly fail proof.

The only reason to go with GM's stage 2 over ZZP or OTTP's is if you were looking to keep the warranty on the car. But since you're a SS/SC, you likely are out of warranty (if 05/06) or close to it.

Your clutch should be fine as long as you drive correctly.

A Good Built Would Be :

OTTP Stage 2
Exhaust Catback, Header & Downpipe
Dual Pass Cooling W/Opt B Kit & ZZP Stage 3 Heat Exchanger Or OTTP's Heat Exchanger
Custome Tune
**Meth Injection If U'd Like Too...

U'll Be Running Good Numbers With Low Temps & Decent AFR's Depending On Ur Tune....

If ur concerned about warranty issues get GM Stage 2 install it urself and have the dealer do the tune " costs less than 1 hour labor charge & ur good to go, Donn get me wrong the GM Kit Isn't As Great As The 1st One But Hey U'll Feel The Punch Outta Of It & U'll Keep Ur Warranty

OTTPs stage 2 for me was $432 Canadain shipped... Don't know where you are getting $600-700 from. You don't need the heat exchanger but it definatly helps. The more cooling mods the better. I just hooked up my wideband to tune it and currently with OTTPs stage 2 tune it's running pig rich so tuning is definatly needed. But i guess they arent gonna sell an on he edge tune haha

I want all the cooling mods I can get.
and I don't have any computer I can get to my car, so i'm going to need some other way to have it tuned?
Any good recommended quick cheap tunings that are decent?

I'll get in touch with him.
And i'm not to embaressed to say i'm not sure what the option B is?
I'm new to this.
I'm trying to learn it all now, though, so my next car will be much easier.
Which is why I love these forums.
I'm getting amazing quick help that's all been great so far!

And OTTP says they Email the tune to me?
How do I get it from my computer to my car if I have a desktop?
Correct me if i'm wrong on something.
haha.

search option B, but in a nut shell you are adding additional cooling fluid reserve.

As for the tune, you would want to select the PCM option. If they email the tune to you, you have to have access to HPtuners to burn it to your car. So select for them to mail you a pcm and you send yours back as a core.
