so im looking to buy a gm stage 1 or stage 2 kit off of ebay ... will the dealer still flash my my car if i dont buy it from gm ? ?

 

they can flash it but your warrenty wont be any good. You have to order it through them. If you want your warrenty, get it from them. If you dont care then i suggest buying the OTTP Stage 1 kit, you get better parts and its for the same price..give or take a few bucks but worth it. And then tune at a local shop that does tuning

 

i thought the flash was encoded to the VIN when the kit was purchased? and it cant be done on any other car but the one of the VIN? at least that was my impression, could be wrong.

 

actually that makes sense. I could be wrong also...lol. But im pretty sure all they do is hook the computer up to it and flash it. Same thing is if they have to clear a code.

 

yeah i heard the code comes with it and thats the only way to get it flashed..

 

is $170 shipped a good price for a used stage 1 kit ? bad thing is, there's no paper work ... so no code. is anyone 100% sure about whether or not gm will flash it without the code ?

 

dude im like 99.9% sure. When I called my dealership to do the tune part after I had the parts installed the guy insisted it wasn't purchased through e-bay or anyone that's a non gm dealer. It does go to the VIN. If you buy that stage kit, either get the guys comp, or buy it gmpartsdirect.com

 

IIf that guy already tuned his car with the tune, you cannot get the flash..

 

GM will not flash without the code.

 

how much hp and tq will you get from a stage 2?
