post count = 1, so here are a few kind words:

1) NO, but even GM *recommends* YES.
2) Please search or at least state that you have searched so that people don't ignore you or flame you.
3) Go to CrateEngineDepot.com for info / prices
4) Welcome to the site!

In all, what completes a GM stage 2 kit? I have never been good with engines and dont know about parts or anything. But I want to upgrade my pulley to a stage 2 so what do I have to buy? And what stage do I have right now if I have a 2007 SS/SC? Stage 1 right?

Thanks for the help, sorry Im engine retarded.

Might want to research the beginning of this thread first. Also crateenginedepot.com has the kits with info. Stock SS/SCs are Stage 0, nothing, nada. Stage 1 includes injectors and a tune from GM. Stage 2 includes Stage 1 plus a smaller pulley and a new hub. Stage 3 includes an even smaller pulley and a new computer, and is not street legal.

No problem. If you are wanting to upgrade and don't care too much about GMs warranty they may or may not cover, there are other ways that are cheaper. Check out RAW, OTT, ZZP and a few others in the supporting vendors sections. They offer similar upgrades with more power at less cost.

Another thing: my friend told me I should delete my resonator. He's gonna get it done on his GTI and he wanted me to get it done with him. Is that a bad idea? Does it make the car sound better? Does it do anything as far as performance?

It won't really change performance, but it will sound different. Our weakening point is the cat and downpipe.

his gti and ur ss/sc r two different forms of forced induction. turbos wake up with exhaust work since its an exhaust flowing form of FI, it wouldnt do much more than sound on your ss/sc since thats an induction form of FI

I was scanning this thread and I am still a little confused on one thing. I understand that the GM Stage 1 kit is 4 42lb/hr injectors and a reflash of the ECU. My question is whether or not GM would install OTHER 42lb/hr injectors(because I can get them cheaper) or if I absolutely must buy the GM ones for them to install them. On the other hand, could I install them and bring the car to a dealership and have them reflash it when they don't know the difference? A rough estimate on cost would be good too. I'm sorry if this is all covered in the thread, but I'm not good with the search tool. Thanks guys!

You can't (From GM). The stage flashes come with kits only, and can't be transferred from car to car either. The only way you can get a flash without injectors (from GM) is to buy your own injectors (42#s) and the "Stage 1 to Stage 2 Upgrade Kit". It includes a Stage 2 belt, pulley and flash/tune. Just read about the kits here:

Damn, I figured a tune was a tune and they'd be able to do it. Looks like I might be stuck with buying Stage 1 or Stage 2 or just finding an aftermarket tune elsewhere. I know almost as little as possible about tuning, or better yet where to get it done. I just don't feel like paying GM jacked up pricing when they're filing for bankruptcy anyway.

Well if warranty isn't your concern, just find someone with HP Tuners or get it yourself, plus injectors and a pulley from anywhere else. Will work out to near the same cost, and you will be able to get someone to send you a stage 2 tune copy. It's just that GM will read it as a bad calibration if they do a test, so that would blow your drivetrain warranty. But if that isn't an issue, HP tuners is the route to go.
