From my understanding the engine is good for the power, although our head is a bit restrictive in stock form. The problem lies in the axles, trans, and clutch. That is why GM changed the axles to ones off the Pontiac Grand Am for the Street Tuner Challenge car.
okay apparently this forum is long behind redline forums :P
The build book will tell u how to get high power the GM way, any way possible to spend more money when not only ness.
When looking at a stage 3, I would almost think nitrous, but then again i remember its GM and they couldn't/wouldn't do that.
To handle a lot more power, our engines would need new cam springs b/c our are little weak things. with any more power then say 300ish, there will be too much pressure to hold our cams in the lifted position. Our pistons are somewhat strong and the build book says to replace around 400 ish hp i believe i have not looked at it in awhile. but if you are doubling stock hp would you not want to replace some internals? thats suicide for your engine if you do not!
