the back TP is going to have less of an effect, but will most def. aid performance with more pressure, less rolling resistance=more speed

Didn't you hit that with a air box mod or something. That really is ashame you don't have a 1/4th time for that. You never know what it would of been. Can only guess it would of been around a 14.21. Sucks not to have a 1/4th time on the track you go too.

Edit Post: Didn't you also get differant tires then come from factory?
With better tires and stock, I bet our cars are a 14 flat.

arkansas. i dont remember what tofu said his 1000 was. i did have a flowmaster muffler on though, again it was hurting me though, it was an EXTREMELY restrictive muffler. tofu doesnt remember if he had his intake or shifter on BTW. IMO i think the car is "stock" until its got DR's, tune, pulley, catback, header, etc.

different street tires or a slap on muffler shouldnt rule it out of the stock area IMO. my goal is to be in the 12's under warranty, using true GMPP stage 2 parts. no 2.8, no different tune.

Well, you have your opinion and I will just agree to disagree. I think most people think stock means off the showroom floor. The way it comes out of the GM factory. All those things like tires, muffler intake, anything like that has a factor in times. Even if its a split second. Every .001 counts for something. I'll stand by saying stock = the way it comes from the factory/ showroom floor.

Edit Post: For example, I know for a fact that my intake made a differance in the 1/4th. I can feel the differance and it pulls a little harder then stock. With good shifts and a great 60" I'm sure you could score a 14.1 - 14.0. Also, how would it be fair, or stock to put the best tires money can by upfront and throw a intake on and now your looking at high 13s. Just a thought, everyones terms of stock seem to differ. Can't really argue the fact about if one cobalt ss/sc is faster then another if they both are from the factory with nothing else altered.

i beleieve your tire argument would only apply to a car with shitty ass tires from the factory. since the cobalt comes ss/sc with very high performance tires standard, it is going to be hard to gain much from another standard street tire, not DR's. i think people are to **** about "stock." hell what if someone had a spark plug go out and they replaced all 4 with a different brand of plug, does that suddenly make them not stock? when people replace their air filter with a non-factory one, that also makes them modded? it gets a little out of hand. now for you intake- what was your best trapspeed before intake, and in similar conditions what was has your MPH been? again, just stating my points and we are just disagreeing, no harm intended

i know for a fact my muffler didn't do jack **** for me because black06ss and i had plenty of roll races, and we would be dead even the entire time. my times improved not due to my muffler and different (worse) tires, they improved from practice.
