Going through alot of oil?

Any idea on what might be causing me to go through so much oil? I bought the car 2 months ago. I checked the oil 2 days after I bought it and it had no oil in it at all. So we put more oil into it. (this was after we checked for leaks). Well 2 months later, im out of oil again.

Its not leaking oil at all. I haven't seen it smoking so its not burning the oil. So any idea on what is causing me to go through so much oil?

Just because you don't see it smoking doesn't mean its not burning it... thanks to cat converters, you wont most of the time, and if you bought the car from a dealership, I would take it back and have them look into it.

Coolant/water is white, excess fuel is black, and oil in the exhaust is whitish blue. If you're not watching for it you might not even notice it.

but the catalytic converters in these cars burn the majority of these off so completely you wont see them unless it happens for an extended amount of time and the cats are worn out.

oil burns blue, but the cat can mask it, what you need to is go to the dealer and have them run an oil consumption test. they will change the oil, fill to the top of the max, mark the drain plug, the filler neck, and the dipstick, and have you bring it back in 1000 miles,

the spec is 1qt per 1000 miles under 50k and 1qt per 500 miles over 50k

see people... listen to the gentleman from UAW!!! We trust him to build our cars, so I think we can trust him to know a little something about our engines too.

Got to take it to them regardless so ill check that out. However, regardless of what color it burns, if its burning through so much oil (this would be..10.2 quarts in less then 3000 miles) wouldn't there be burned marks where it was burning on the exhaust pipes?
