Hahn Racecraft LSJ GT35R Turbo Project PICS RELEASED!
wont know till hahn says so lol, they never tell the price before it hits the shelves due to people getting upset if the price isnt the same as said before..
the stage 2 kit for the 2.2's and 2.4s is in the mid 3 thousands.. so i am guessing with the full kit around 4k and up..
either way i cant wait to see this kit done on his car, that portfueler keeps crying to me, "buy me, buy me"
Gonna have to get a custom kit from hahn as i want that portfueler, but i dont need the super20 version.. not yet atleast
did ya ever wonder about putting on the intercooler NX kit.. the spray bar that is hooked to the intercooler that sprays nitrous on the intercooler. looks to be a lot safer than injecting it into the piping.
must have more pics
EDIT:
Question to Hahn, when in relavation to this portfueler working on the 2.2 i just realized where the charge piping is and the left charge pipe would not allow the hahn intake manifold to fit.. ugg this would be problem..

Just do a little custom piping....I'm going to be custom making my whole turbo kit if hahn doesn't release their 20g by the end of this month....it really isn't that hard to do if you know what you're doing...and will save you TONS of money...(not bashing hahn, just stating obvious)

Well that's tons of money to me since i'm a starving college student! lol but yes that's right around where i'm looking at...I can get everything I need for around 2700-2800 (and thats high balling it for me...I think it was more like 2500 last time I did number crunching)...But if I run into problems, it may cost more...and that's intercooled as well
You could do a self made turbo kit that would make 350-400whp for these cars for under $2000 easy. You just have to buy the right stuff and know what you're doing.
I might just give it a whirl when I get back to see if I can indeed do it too.

I'm sorry but with the cheapest set up i dont think you could hit under 2000 dollars if your wanting 350-400 hp. Come one lets say you use a gt3076r like most thats 1250 right there.... So you can do the rest of the build for 750?? I don't think so, but now you could do it under 3000, because I'm doing it right now but I've passed 2 already lol.
Technically, if you bought all ebay parts, you could make a kit for like a grand no joke....They even sell a turbo manifold on ebay for our cars forl ike 150 bux. But I don't know how reliable the parts would be lol
question towards the hahn setup
is the 5 bolt turbo outlet using a gasket? Reason i ask is because atp told me they just run it metal to metal...im guessing theres a possibility that could work since the flange is super flat and hugs the turbo with no gap
yea...im picking up the parts as good as i can...and brand new...nothing used yet...and i doubt i go that way

ya i cant do that ebay ****. I mean for somethings maybe but not for turbo parts. I bought the TiAL 44mm wastegate, HKS SSQV BOV, Hahns portfueler intake manifold, gt3076r turbo, and the rest is yet to come.
LOL the other day I was looking at a 93 toyota camry engine bay...it was the 2.2 4 banger.....hooly crap, must've been the easiest engine to do a turbo kit on...everything was just right there...and then I looked at my car and took out my .45 handgun

ok dude i don't know what you are proving. You are talking bottom of the line everything. And a log style manifold?? Garbage!!! You will not hit 350-400 hp with that set up on a cobalt. I'd give you 320-350 max on a friendly dyno.
And this wasn't just for you. Ok lets go for a normal joe on here. Welding skills they would have zero, injectors i'll give you that you have them but they still cost you money. HPT that cost you 600 or more depending on your version. So like i said thats 3 grand right there dude. It's almost a thousand just for HPT and injectors. So for you and people like me that's ok but not for everyone.
Don't forget you are still using the stock intake manifold which is horrible for making big horsepower numbers.

Yeah, I'm not claiming the best kit in the world, but I'm not talking cheap no-name parts either. The EVO III 16g is a tried and proven turbo amongst the DSM crowd for well into the 375-400+whp range. Just because it's not ball bearing, doesn't mean it won't do the job. Also, a log style mani will go quite a long way. I bet I could get full spool by 3750 the latest with that setup too. Plus, the average Joe looking to swap for a turbo probably has already got the HPTuners and 60's from maxing out the blower anyhow. Hell, and exhaust shop could weld the charge/downpipe for another $100, and the tune could be had for around $250ish for that matter. 06black has made 380+whp on the stock manifold and all he did was gut the blower and work the inside a bit.
Basically, I was just showing people an alternative to get the same results. I'm not being a jerk here, I'm just trying to enlighten the masses to alternative thinking. By the way that "CHEAP" setup in my Integra laid down 213whp and 208wtrq (peak torque @ 3500rpms) at 11psi on a Mustang dyno tuned with just an SAFC! I never dyno'd it at 15psi, but it was a monster and that was when I had the small 16G turbo.
Put it this way my buddies 300awhp WRX on the same dyno got walked by it. The new EVO III turbo, mani, clutch, and Hondata S300 will put me way past 300whp and trq too. Just wait and see.

you can make over 350whp on a log style manifold...... I know, I've done it
and that was on my el cheapo ebay buld, cost me $1100 to builf the whole kit
(of course now I just spent 3g's on good parts lol)

thats funny that you mention 06black. I helped build that set up lol. That car was in my pole barn for 3 weeks. I know everything that is done to that car. And yes he made 388whp with a custom manifold not a log style. Yes he did it on a stock intake but that is it. So like i said after help building one kit already and we started with the log style and threw it in the trash cause it was ****. I know what it can put down. So trust me 350whp will be pushing it with what parts you listed from "Ebay" lol.

i knew you had to come in here and say somethin you SOB!
dont you have some nascar to watch? or like a sister to beat up
Garry is the single best manifold bolt "un-doer" in the whole world.
no doubt about this is my mind, if not for him and his dad my car would not be like it is today.
i also owe a few GM guys for some vary trick ideas, but thats a whole 'nother thread.
