Well yeah but the turbo is easy to put on/take off unless you don't have a lift...Then it could be a nightmare. Besides, usually the turbo is by the firewall and out of the way of the engine. Some people do have charge pipes come over the top of the engine but that's easy to take off as well (unless they welded the whole thing together)

Damn that sucks Paul. How the hell are you supposed to go to the track if your plowing snow with the front bumper still? Will the track even be open?

snow's all gone already (stupid global warming lol) but the way it looks, I will not be running next weekend, car won't make over 13psi now due to the nice crack in the FMIC. Oh well there are many more days. Plus my clutch is starting to give out anyway, I was waiting on all the rest of the parts to put the car in the shop to do everything in one weekend (fuel system, exedy clutch, intake mani, FMIC, etc)

To start the bottom end has : Stock Crank, Neutral Balance Shafts, JBP Cross Beam Rods, Custom 8:1 compression pistons, Wrist Pins, and rings. The block was also drilled for 1/2" Headstuds instead of my 1/4" studs.

The top of the engine is a JBP Stage 2+1 Race Ported Head. It has JBP Stage 2 cams in it also and is ceramic coated to reduce heat. It is able to rev to 8500 rpms SAFELY!

Ok anyway, to the fun stuff. At first Bill Hahn and me were in the works of a turbo kit using the Super 20G as the turbo for the kit. Well after some research and the craving for more power we decided to use a Garrett GT35R turbo. It took awhile but I know that Bill is one for perfection and I knew this would be worth the wait! We took out the intake manifold and had Hahn Racecrafts Street Race Intake Manifold put on as well as his "Portfueler". Thats just the basics but I think everyone wants to see the pictures already so I know when Bill find this thread he will comment about everything I missed!

ENJOY!!!

what kind of wheels do you have on that car? How much and what is the weight of the rims?

Oh ok. You could run a straight pipe with couplers to replace the intercooler for now and using the stock manifolds intercooler system to do the trick for the track. I know it's not as efficient, but it would get your down the track still, and then you could see the difference when you get the new intercooler and intake mani in. Just a thought.

That sucks that Bill was sick this weekend! I was really looking foward to seeing some vids or numbers. Probably not as much as you being the owner of the, but I am definitely anxious to see the results of your hard work and money spent.

just to get involved here....

what power numbers are you "expecting"??

the math dont lie, I just ran the figures, i'm purely interested in what you think will be made, thats all.

We are expecting well over 400whp on pump gas and around 600whp on high octane/high boost!

Bill is not sick actually. He is at the shop still working as I type this. The fuel mods all went perfect. It is on the dyno just getting it ready for some bigger boost numbers. When he says he is ready for me to come out and get the vids I will be out there in a jiffy!

the head flow numbers will support your 400 goal with out question, however the 600mark wont occur on your head (i do know the flow numbers here ~655cfm) (580X13%=655)

going on just air calculations, 655/1.4=~470whp

with boost and dependent on how true JBPs clames are on your head flow gains you might see 610 cfm or you might see 670cfm thus giving you a power range in the 470's

however, this is all entirely dependent on how realistic JPB flow gain %'s are.....from what i've seen they do tend to under estimate the heads so people are more then happy once the numbers come back, however there not that far off....maybe 500wheel but not 600, unless some tom foolary occurs with the dyno.

not knocking you, your project, or hahn, just posting factual flow numbers.

i wish you luck, i'd like to see a 500whp cobalt before summer time.

This part of the post is like a **** tease! Not Fair! I would be there during the whole tuning process too by the way if I were you!
