Harrop: Fuel Problems!
Harrop: Fuel Problems!
Well i had just installed my Harrop s/c a day ago and loaded the tune (given to me from ottp based on the set up i purchased). I couldnt get the converter off on my own so i didnt get my test pipe in. I then unplugged the 2nd o2 sensor, checked off and set them to 3 on the dtc list. I plugged my wideband in there.... well at idle it runs pig rich, like 10 afr, but if you wait a few secondsit starts lean out. I took it for a real short ride and every time i stop it will go pig rich and idle will bounce and eventually settle. Also when im at cruising speed and i let up on the throttle a little it will go to 10afr, but as i accelerate it will lean back out to 14.7 afr.. can anyone shine some light on me?
side note: ottp sent me the tune expecting the converter to be out

It's the fact that the injectors are so big, that they are injecting more fuel than the car can handle at idle. By zeroing out that value and re-tuning the idle, you are effectively shortening the injection pulse, and injecting less fuel at idle or low load.
Well, maybe call either Sean or Josh at OTTP, and get them to help you out with that... cause you pretty much need to learn how HPT operates, and how to either tune via trims or AFR before you can dial in the idle fuel.
well im familiar with hpt, just trying to get use to and figure out what tables to make changes to for certain applications. I've tuned with my buddy using hpt before, but he is in japan now. I catch on pretty quick, just need a little guidance
If you still have questions, just post up on HPT and we can get you rolling.
Most of us tuners don't post much over here with respect to HPT, simply due to the fact that too many people want to get spoon fed information, or just start asking for canned tunes. So, that's why I've directed you to the other forum (HPT).
