head pressure

so i read somewere on here about taking off the cap were u fill oil and if you feel air coming out while car is running then you got a problem..i just took of my cap and felt a good amount of air coming through on my hand..is this normal or whats goin on here

hmmm i have never heard of that, i will have to look at mine. but are you sure you heard that from someone one here?

lol you have dual overhead cams. of course you're going to feel air moving if you open the filler cap. it's not a problem, it's all those moving parts! i'm surprised you didn't spray oil all over.

I think you will always feel air coming out of the oil fill hole over the valves. Isn't there ventilation to the valve cover to equalize pressure? At least I was pretty sure that the pressure needs to be equalized within the valve cover. Someone else more knowledgable about that should be able to tell you. As far as I remember (haven't taken my oil cap off witht he car running on my cobalt) but my old cavalier and probe both had air coming out of the oil fill hole if you took off the cap while the car was running.
