header/dp sound question

I know that header/dp combos can add some hp. I'm getting ready to do a stage 2 upgrade, and I know that header/dp will help, but I hate the way a lot of the exhausts sound. Do the header and dp change the sound of our exhausts drastically? I mean, will it be much louder? Thanks in advance!

They make the car a little bit louder. My question for you is do you have an aftermarket catback or are you stock?

yea, the header and downpipe will change it a little....even more if you eliminate the cat. The real sound change will come with a cat-back exhaust

I have the ZZP Midlength combo with a stock catback and it sounds pretty good but not loud.

That's what I was thinking. The header/ dp and then gmpp. That wouldn't be too loud, right? One other question, would I need to install all at once? I have a stock cat so would putting the header/dp cause problems with that, or do I just need to put it on all at one time? Thanks a lot guys. Still new at this stuff! I appreciate all the advie!

you don't need to put them all on together..you can do it in pieces. The GMPP exhaust has a nice tone to it....not to loud, but louder then stock

Your dp will have a high flow cat on it if you order one with a cat. And to answer your question, no you don't have to install it all at once. You can install which ever one you decide to do first. I have heard a few cars with GMPP exhausts w/header/dp setups and they are kind of loud but not as bad as a mangnaflow, vibrant, or meagan catback would be with a header.

i'm just gettin the zzp downpipe with a high-flow cat welded on it and then a megan cat-back.. personally i dont see any big reason to get the headers, their only goin to add like 5hp.. i'm takin the extra $300 i was goin to spend on that and spend it on a cxracing heat exchanger

I beg to differ on only seeing 5hp of difference with a header.

they may only give 5 hp but they will make it easier to get more hp outta other mods
