Header and ehxaust?

Im brand new to the Cobalt world, matter of fact this is my first 4 cylinder car, I have to say is f*cking fun to drive, but is too quiet, is the 2007 SS supercharged model, I am looking into getting a new header and full exhaust, what would you guys recomend?

In that note what would be a good cold air intake for it??

All of the answers you will get are going to be biased. But here are mine..

ZZP intake
ZZP long-tube header
ZZP DP
2.5" Clear Image Automotive cat-back

This is my current setup. Full v-banded all the way back FTMFW!

^ this

Personally i think the best intake is a Injen CAI, it will give you abit of power increase (doubt u will feel it though) and it will bring the whine of the supercharger alive.

As for exhaust, i havent heard to many systems i like. I had a CIA Header 3" downpipe w/ hi-flow cat and 3 inch magnaflow exhaust, that was loud and ******* annoying. That being said, with a 2.5" downpipe and 2.5" exhaust, it might sound abit better.

not a good idea, thats how i picked mine and it was the biggest mistake. Videos on youtube dont do justice. My Cobalt, 370z, SRT-10 and ZX6R all sounded different in real life, then they do on a video.

zzp long tube header, zzp dp, custom 2.5 inch cat back or 3 inch depending on your goals

any 3 inch intake will make you smile, i personally had the fujita but now are more brands.

Another quality option is the Vibrant header and downpipe setup:

Catless downpipe:
Vibrant Stainless Steel Header Chevrolet Cobalt 2.0/2.2/2.4L 2005-10 (Cat-Delete) - Turbo Tech Racing, LLC

Catt'd downpipe:
Vibrant Stainless Steel Header Chevrolet Cobalt 2.0/2.2/2.4L 2005-10 (Cat-Con) - Exhaust & Header - Turbo Tech Racing, LLC

Catback makes it loud, not the header...

Vibrant header kit and the Hahn cat back = Awesome.

Lol you guys must enjoy fiddling around with bolts and gaskets huh?

Why don't people dish out the money for a full v-band setup? So much nicer.

It's not much more expensive. Just the price of the v-bands. You'll be happy with it, trust me.

I think I'm missing something here...
Question: In what ways is the 2.5" Clear Image Automotive cat-back better then the stock 2.5"?

I had a 2.5" catted DP and GMPP touring exhaust and loved it .... problem is GMPP is a 2.25" exhaust ..... it showed a 12hp gain on the dyno over stock IIRC but would be restrictive if you go much farther than GM StageII .

My first choice would be a Corsa Touring catback ....pricey but worth it IMHO . If you can't do both at the same time , the downpipe is the biggest restriction in the stock exhaust system.

is the type of clamp used on turbos, it doesn't use gaskests because of the shape of it. google it under images and you will see what Im talking about.

Ok this thread is only a few months old, but I did a search so is how I fond it.

Id like to ask a few questions about your setup
1: Are you catted? Im guessing yes, since it's "Cat-back"
2: How does it sound? Ive been looking at getting an
exhaust on my cobalt for a year, and I think I want to go with ZZP Header,
I figure, if I have a ZZP 2.85" Pulely, a ZZP Intake, and I throw on a ZZP
Header, then ZZP should be able to hook me up with a great tune for it all.
Much better then Intense, since im sure they are probably most qualified
to tune for stuff that they sell.

Random fact: The Blackhawk Helicopter uses a V-Band exhaust

I would suggest the following:
Hahn Shorty Header Chevy Cobalt 2.0L SS/SC
Hahn Max Flow Downpipe/Cat Chevy
Hahn 3” Cat-Back Exhaust System Chevy Cobalt 2.0L SS/SC 2005-07 Aftermarket Downpipe

It's pricey but well worth the money as far as quality and sound. Much better than any other setup I've heard or tried personally. Besides, all Hahn's Racecraft product right now is 10% off. I always buy my parts from Turbo Tech Racing so I recommend you buy from them. They always seem to have the best prices and good customer service. Just my opinion though

I'm not going to say what you should get, because everyone has their own opinions for what the best exhaust setup is.

Here's mine....

Badmab 4-1 Shorty Header (1.71" primaries, 3" collector)
Random Technology 3" to 2.75" catless downpipe
Corsa Touring 2.5" catback

My downpipe & catback were expensive, but it was all worth it.

I currently run an Injen cold air intake w/ Amsoil EA Nanofiber filter. I've tested many different intakes, and they all provided about the same gain (airbox mod - 3" intakes). Some fit better than others, but this will all come down to personal preference as well.
