Yea bad mab will be ok for the average lsj, hell I've seen people doing almost 300 on the stock manifold. Pacesetter is a better piece in the long run.

Did you try to use copper head to header gasket for that header and Remflex gasket header to downpipe ?

I used a Remflex for the Header to Downpipe and a OEM for the Head to Header, The Remflex actually stopped the leakage, But the OEM side was just too warped(I think) to stop the leaking.

Maybe if you use Copper head to header gasket will help to stop the leak.

Wow this thread blew up!

I was going to go with the Bad-mab but decided not to once I found out that the zzp downpipe doesnt fit a cav right.

Now ill go with the armour coated LSJ pacesetter.

Ive heard people have issues with the ball socket but \i personally havent ever. Ive had 2 on different cavs and never an issue.

Or use ZZP Mid Length header downpipe combo. Save your time and money.

Ok I've had the zap midlength 3" collector with the 1.75 runners going through a catted 3" to 2.5" downpipe. I've also had a shorty with a catted 2.5" zzp downpipe. That midlength pulled noticeably harder uptop with not a huge amount lost on the bottom end. I'm also a 2.4 na auto.

Oh Yeah, My bad. I used to have 97 Cavy Z24 Supercharged. I spend over 5k on my car and had to let it go. It was 1 BAD ASS CAR that I had. I miss my Cavy but now move on to my 06 Cobalt SS SC. Now I am doing it again! YYYEEEEHHAAAAA!!!!

my header is also messed up. iv went thru 3 header/dp gaskets. the one they sent me and two oem ones. i might try the remflex now that you guys metioned it. i also hate the way it made my car sound. as for gains idk, i feel like i lost low end torque but it could be in my head lol hopefully a tune will change my mind

You won't be disappointed when you slap Remflex gasket in. You will be happy with it.

Depending how much timing the car is already running, one extra degree of timing could add 5hp all by itself. Any tuner on this forum could take any canned tune and with a little tuning and timing make +11whp.

Again, I am not knocking the product. I think it is a very nice upgrade for those who are running a stock exhaust manifold.

I might be able to be the official stock vs Ottp long tube within the next few months and settle that at least.

Do it man, because I'm tired of the battles.

I myself chose a shorty, because that's what GM Racing used on the Time Attack car. Since I'm going for a complete GMR build (need the GMR head), I wanted to follow the build book as close as possible.

I did not dyno after the header, but I can assure you it added some mid-upper rpm spunk over my GMPP manifold (I calibrate my butt dyno daily by the way ).
