Header sequence and torque.

I am aware that the sequence is:

8 6 1 3 2 9
7 4 5 10

However, I am having trouble finding the torque # that they should be at. I searched and came up with about 4 different numbers, and couldn't even find it on AllData (oddly enough).

What should they be torqued to? The gasket is a stock LSJ gasket that is brand new.

they don't need much, just double check them in a week or so as i know if they aren't torqued properly they will back off. i just used a mild locktite to prevent that and i didn't use a torque wrench and no leaks yet and they've been on for a few months now.

Good luck using a torque wrench. It's hard enough tightening the bolts with a normal wrench & socket.

Just make sure they are snug. Put the car through a few heat cycles, and re-check the bolts. I'm very **** when it comes to making sure bolts are torqued to spec (I'm an engineer), but in this case I didn't worry about it much. The rest of my exhaust is torque'd to spec though, and I have absolutely no exhaust leaks.

Yeah I kind of figured it would be a pain to get a torque wrench in there............

Like I said ZZP did all of the work, as I needed v-band flanged welded on my cat-back anyway. I know they need to be checked after some cycles and I don't know what ZZP put them to, probably just snugged them and used..

8 6 1 3 2 9
7 4 5 10

I will snug them in a few more days.

Nice.

Well, good luck with your setup. It sounds pretty nice in the video you posted earlier.

I tried getting a torque wrench on mine.... didn't work too well. I just snugged them with one hand on a 12" ratchet. 100lbs seems like a little much for those tiny studs. Anyway, that's what I did, and its been leak free since. Good luck man.

are you thinking 100ft/lbs or 100in/lbs. cuz 100in/lbs is like 15ft/lbs

Thank you very much. I will be posting more pictures of their work, and a better video (that's the first "fly-by" I've ever attempted to get on video lol). I think the girlfriend was a little close with the camera, and I let off too early

Now I'm struggling with this FMHE.. GRR!!! LOL

Yeah I'll just use a wrench for sure, I can not see getting a torque wrench in there at all

Pretty close. 120 in/lbs is 10 ft/lbs.
