he's running lower iat's because it's winter. haha, there may be extra cooling surfaces, but that's beside the point, not really what i was saying. i'm not going to debate the CX+stock or just the CX.

oh, i know the HE was spaced. i was thinking he didn't leave a gap between the condenser and the radiator, and that's what concerned me.

no i was asking for the winter. he already did it for the summer. he put it w/o the stock h/e and higher iat's. then he put the stock h/e back on. 50/50 half water and half dex cool like i did and got lower iat's. this is in the summer in new jersey.

pm'd you about the whole fast98 and big cx h/e so i wouldn't crowd this thread up anymore as i talked to lsjwannabe about.

Not everyone follows what I recommend like its the bible........

Have you looked at the pic of the bolts and clamps? This is 100% stainless hardware. Not the cheap junk. I bet you would pay 15-20 dollars easy for the hardware.

and i am not trying to bash you or him or any vendor. i have pm'd people and said props to some of the products you have and linked them to you and said buy from there it's the cheapest. i just want people to get a good deal and if there is a better way to get it done for cheaper or what i think is better i am trying to offer it to fellow css.net memebers.

fast98 even said in a pm to me a while ago if i can get it on ebay and mounted for all said and done for less than $200 bucks he would give me props and think it's good. just not as good as your brackets. i said thanks and wish me luck. once i was done i pm'd him and showed him how i did it and said i got it done for less than $200. so i am not trying to bash him at all.

i have even talked to you in pm's and you were nice and on aim that one night. u even said i am going the cheap way sometimes but if i get 300whp that's not all that bad. just get a wideband and make sure i am running safe. which i am getting aem wideband.

this would be bashing(a pm i got earlier which i told the guy i put my big cx h/e on from ebay for less than $199 bucks...
Its called bartering....... do you think I should just give you a discount just because? No I do it to try and keep a customer.

Who cares how good the hardware is. There is no point for it. Do you think that the stock mounting hardware is a POS???? I dont think so...it holds everything in there w/o a problem. Why spend extra money and time just because you get to use 100% stainless steel brackets?? Why not mount it as clean as possible w/ no fabrications??? Im sure people have realized how much cheaper it is to go
the ebay way...Thats probably why you have lowered the price so much. Demand goes down you gotta start lowering the price.

Well when I start taking advice on how to make things from someone fresh out of highschool I'll let you know. Until then I will make a quality product and stand by it.

Brandon is who I quoted, and don't go getting up on your high horse yet. You just recently left the teens, being only 20?

Ok, go ahead and call me out on how old I am. I really dont care. Yeah, I just graduated last year. Im not loaded with money. So saving $100 dollars and getting the same quality job done with less work is what I'm looking for as well as most people are Im sure. If they want to pay $100 dollars more because you're older than me then thats their choice. But I had a few people on here who know their stuff helping me. For example, Bodnar, Ecotecon18s, Cole, and Hungry. So yeah im 18 but facts are facts. My car has a very clean install. You can look under my hood anywhere and not see Home Depot stickers.

I can finish the price busting here...if you don't like the price of what he's selling (which is fair btw) then don't buy it and STFU.

To use something not designed or intended for your car you have to do fabrication or modification to get it to work...that's a fact of life.

im just gonna step in here as a non biased bystander. OTT seems to offer a good product for a good price ...good hardware is everything it what makes a quality product, if they made a kit that came with zip ties and ducked tape everyone would be calling it crap.

it cost me a good 30 bucks in hardware because this thing is mounted to the front of a moving object, it has to deal with my solid motor mounts, wheel hop, hard launches and triple digit wind speeds. i wanted to make sure it wasn't going anyware. not something i wanted to half ass. i wouldn't mind paying for the OTT kit because they put the same thought into i did . and only cost 40 bucks more than what it cost me.

people don't seem to understand the concept of business...if you don't want to or just don't have the money to pay someone to provide you with a service or product ,then learn how to do or make it your self...seems most of you have done that ...good for you and more power ya. but just because you have a way to do it cheaper doesn't mean you have to go and try and slap money out of thies guys hands.

you didn't like the price , you found a way around it ...done ...be happy , why keep busting thies guys *****

i guess i just understand ott because i tried my own small side business with car audio
a bunch of people wanted something for nothing. i did fiberglass work for 500 bucks and people still wanted it cheaper , labor rate is 50-75 bucks an hr. one fiberglass encloser is close to 100 man hours from raw glass to paint , if they went to ashop they would be paying over 5k for some of the stuff iv done. for a few 100 bucks and a case of beer. and people still wanted more for less. so i got out of it . one thing i learned ... is that you cant give to much , because if you do people will take advantage of you .

end rant

For somebody that doesn't want to have to fool with a lot of work, finding materials for brackets, hardware, tearing off the whole front end and such, the OTT kit is great. If you like taking the easy road and having all the guess-work done for you, by all means. The guy is trying to help you out, so he should be entitled to make a few bucks off of it.

Now for those other daring souls (myself included) who have the time, ability, and resources to tear down the front end and get creative in a project like this, we can save a few bucks but spend more time, gas, and sweat fabricating something for it to work.

Kudos to OTT for helping people that don't have the knowledge/ability to continue modding their cars.

Im not trying to ball bust anyone. The OP asked which H/E he should by. Its not like I came into Fast's thread and started bashing on him. I think its fair that the OP sees different sides of the story. So just because Fast sells his kit for $xxx, then that means that no one is aloud to offer an alternate route. I have nothing against OTT, I was just trying to help some other people out if they were going to do it a different way. By all means, if someone is looking for mounting hardware because of issues with it falling off then yes the OTT kit is a great price.

everyone is forgetting that flash brandon doesn't even use brackets. he uses what the car came with. so to me if i was to pick on what to get i'd do it all over again but this time around probably use brandon's guide

Good post. I value my time and I will happily pay an extra $60 dollars to have no guesswork, easy install, and no looking for hardware at Homedepot. The extra time you are out looking for hardware and custom bending brackets I am out enjoying my car. Different strokes for different folks.

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW. This thread went nuts and im glad to see that we are getting no where with this!!! So i just read through everything and Cbondar your making a great claim and everthing else by sudgesting to buy off of E-bay and follow your install, but the thing is is that im from Canada and it is over 75 bucks to get it here!!! So all in all im not saving **** by ordering through E-bay cause i still have to go out and get parts from Home Depot!!! Fast98 offers a GOOD deal to me!!! little more exoensive but i live in a little town and i would be spending over 20 bucks just in gas to buy the brackets. Now honestly i couldn't give a **** if im spending and extra 20-40 bucks for profit I mean the guy deserves!!! so i mean its almost looking like i should go with Fast98 for the few extra bucks!!! Although Cbondar you are offering so good advise if i like in the US but it is overly expensive to **** here!!! ANY OTHER THOUGHTS OPINONS BEFORE I ORDER CAUSE I WANT ONE

The ZZP unit shown on the site is pre-production. Final units will look even better. There are no brackets to buy or included with the kit becaue they are welded onto the exchanger which is made exclusively for the Cobalt. that means and easy exact fit with all parts included for a very fast install at under $200. If the group buy goes through, even less
