Help...

In short.. When i try to go past around half throttle my car dies for a sec (or completely), then bursts to life again. If i stay below half throttle then everything is fine. I've tried cleaning the MAF sensor, throttle body, filter and any sensor i could see but its just made it worse.

It started happening a little while after (not right after) i did 60lb injectors, 2.8 pulley, option b, dual pass, heat exchanger and tune (trifecta) also i have an injen.

here's a kinda crappy video i took, for the first 3/4 of the video i'm just tapping the throttle to half or so and at the end i'm pushing the throttle maybe 20-25% and it revs just fine

what do your afr's look like when you go past half? does it just run rich as hell? cuz it could be flooding the combustion chamber

make sure the connector to the throttle body is plugged in properly AND the grey safety lock clip is in place.

My best guess is something in the tune. When I switched to 80's this last summer my car started doing something like this, especially in first. Part throttle was fine. I had *way* to much fuel in the tune, pulled a bunch out and it runs great.

Almost wonder if maybe they tuned it for #42's by accident? Just another thought.

I've tried contacting bnr in the past about this same issue and all they told me was to get it looked at... no help. the weird thing about it is it didn't start happening till a couple weeks after i got my tune/60's and its trifecta so i have no god damn clue what the tune's set up for lol

yes it did happen after it started raining a lot more and my maf was soaking wet today but I've dried it off and cleaned it and it didn't seem to help

I wasn't thinking about the MAF getting wet but that could be it. Big changes in temperature can throw your AFR off enough to do something like this. As a side note on rain, my car hates the humidity (don't think my MAF is getting wet, just a picky car).

If you haven't checked the cat yet I would at least pull and check it, easy and free. Your wide-band is showing really rich, that's a big part of why I'm thinking it's the tune. If BNR told you to get it looked at ask them if they'll cover the shop cost etc. for diagnostic. My bet's still on the tune. If the company that made it isn't interested in trying to help you troubleshoot then your kinda stuck.

These cars can run speed density as well (they ignore the MAF). If you un-plug the MAF the car should still run and should run more or less normal. That's an easy test to eliminate a bad MAF. I wouldn't drive the car a lot like that though without being able to log it.

ya its my dd which sucks, but I'm gonna try and take the day off tomorrow and just go over everything i can think of. I don't have the trifecta cord needed either since the black box style cords are hard to come by, i had to borrow one which really sucks

Bump, its not the cat and the car just starts up and dies after a couple seconds when the maf is disconected

I've always failed the MAF through the computer, maybe unplugging it is different. My Balts put up for the winter so I can't test this :-/. If its not the tune the only other things I can think of is a boost or intake leak, bad MAF, or maybe a bad injector.

Short of finding someone to log and check the tune I don't know any way to check it. I hate just throwing money at a problem but a new MAF might be the next step. Check what the boost gauge is doing when your giving it throttle, that's my best guess for how to check for a boost leak. I'm betting someone else has a better method, would be worth searching on that one. If its a bad injector I don't know of any easy way to check that either (think changing back to stock pulley/injectors/tune or buying new injectors :-/)

I pulled the maf again and it was soaked again, the day after i had pulled it the 1st time. I ordered a new filter because my current one is sopping wet, i think that may be the problem.
