Help!!!

I am about to rip my hair out
So me car just died on me, did a hard pull in first, wot in second, let off throttle and put in fifth and coasted down to about 60mph, slightly depressed throttle to keep speed at 60mph as soon as I did that the check engine light came on and the DIC said Engine power reduced, I pulled over and checked my interceptor gauge and it read these codes
P0017
P0102
P0340
P0352
P0068
(BTW as soon as I pulled over the engine died)
I tried to start it again and nothing, I cleared the trouble codes and still nothing, I pulled the car home, I've got it in the garage with the valve cover off, timing seems to be spot on what the heck could be going on??

Check your fuses, check your harness connections, and check all the grounds. Could possibly be bad throttle body or camshaft sensor crapped out

Any luck yet? Have any friends with cobalt that you can swap throttle bodies and sensors really quick? That would make troubleshooting so much quicker. Maybe post in the WA regional thread and see if there's any local lsj guys that would let you swap out a known working part just so you get it right the first time

Unplug your ecu wait two minutes and plug it back in it'll clear the engine disabled code. Once that code comes up it wont let the engine run until it is enabled. I had to do it to mine. Blue plug on ecu in front of the fuse box under the hood just in case you dont know didnt want you to come back and have to ask.

Ok as of right now im in the middle of pulling off the timing chaing cover because me dumb a** dropped a bolt down there and I cant get it out, car sat all night with the battery unplugged and as soon as I can get it all put together I will let you know, some one said that it could be the crankshaft position sensor that can be going or has gone bad, should I replace it?

OK I unplugged the battery for over an hour, as soon as the key hit the "On" position the engine performance reduced light came on, it threw the following codes,
p0068
p0102
p0223
p0340
p0341
p1516
I'm stumped, I don't know what else to look at, Im replacing the camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, and I'm going to see if I have an extra throttle body laying around to replace that too. Any more ideas?

Welcome to car modding... Sounds like a bad CPS to me. I'm not looking up all those codes but from what happened it kinda sounds like it went bad. Fairly common

What I don't understand is why its throwing codes for the throttle body and intake cam, are they some how dependent on each other? Eg if cam sensor goes bad it will throw throttle code vice versa?

One sensor being bad can cause a plethora of codes thrown. A lot of things going on inside the pcm and it uses data from mulitple sensors at one time. If some calculaiton or comparison is being done and one sensor is bad it will look like multiple rhinga arbad. Code can only be so smart

Don't feel bad if it takes a few tries, so called certified mechanics get stumped when it comes to simple things like lnf cracked intercoolers.

Sounds to me like its a wirring issue to throw all those codes, possibly a bad ground that feeds the grounds for all those sensors or u lost the 5v reference to those sensors I would look for a chaffed or broken wire I doubt replacing sensors will fix this issue

Ok I'll look over all the connections, I didn't see any wires that looked bad but I'll look it over again.

I would definitely try swapping out throttle bodies with someone local. Or you can try pming mogorat427 he always has an insane amount of cobalt parts for sale. Probably has a few lsj throttle bodies

Damn ok well I replaced the sensor but only moved that cap back far enough to where the sensor would clear that hose, I'll take a look at it, I was kind of scared to take that cap off all the way

I swapped the throttle body out again with another one and now none of them work, before I could hear/watch it moving now nothing with any of them! I'm so frustrated I don't know what to look for anymore

What do you mean watch it moving? Are you trying to start your car with the intake piping disconnected? You checked all fuses and gone over the wiring harness? even all the way down to the maf sensor behind the headlight? Sure you installed that cps sensor right I know many people have installed them wrong. Did you ever physically move the throttle body plate? Bc that can **** it up.
