More cooling the better, putting a HE on a stock car wouldn't hurt it at all. Stage 3 is lighter and more efficient than the other stages along with holding more fluid. If your not on a budget OTTP Griffin HE is supposed to the the shiz.

so the zzp s3 is the best one under the griffin? and i only have a catless dp and CAI on now but i will have headers, new muffler and maybe some small stuff for the engine so would it matter what size stage i get or can i just go get the s3 and throw it on?

Yea, I'd say it is. Mine works great. You can throw any cooling you want on, like I said the more the better.

Are you going to pulley down at all?

Our stage 1 unit uses the same style core as their stage 3, just our stage 1 is slightly bigger and alot cheaper. Everyone seems to like our unit so I would ask around about our gen 4 heat exchanger

I went with the ZZP stage one HE. I highly recommend a bigger one. My M62 is almost to hot to touch after a couple pulls, or a drive around town. Get the S3 and be done with it.

Either get the Stage 3 or Griffen, go big and do it once as the guy above said.

I switched from a S3 to the Griff and see almost a ten degree improvement.

i personally have the ZZP S3 heat exchanger, thats my olny cooling mod on my 2.8
i can make a couple runs and immediately touch the SC and not burn my hand. i plan on getting option B in good time though.

and no offense to OTTP or anything, but shipping will be faster with ZZP.

I had contrary experiences, ZZP wanted pictures of my drivers license before they would ship to me. 6, 1. Half dozen the other.

What heat exchanger you have has no effect on how hot or cold your supercharger will be.

Also we have both heat exchangers in stock and they will ship the same day if you order by noon.

Both ZZP and OTTP make quality H/E. I am also running a ZZP S3 H/E with a 2.8 with more cooling mods planned before track season.

Best of luck in what you choose.

i had a feeling that the bigger the heat exchanger, the cooler the temps, but i guess that would be a cooler intake manifold though.

on a side note i did by my stage 2 kit from OTTP

100% correct. The heat exchanger (well actually the whole air-water intercooler system) cools the air after the blower, not before it.

the zzp does not cool the same as the griffen

and 10 degrees is the difference between losing several degrees of timing, timing is worth 1-3hp per degree

but if you dont want to pay then your not going to have as much fun playing

If you understand what a h/e does, that's all the reason you need to spend the extra!
