Help Intercooler pump not working!
Hey guys my timing chain broke back in February and I had to change the head. Well my buddy did the work and everything turned out fine. Well today I popped the hood and noticed there was no coolant in the neck of the intercooler fill. I put some fluid in and it immediately filled up. Started it, hit the gas and it sucked it down. Did that a couple of times and now I think it is full. Anyways the problem is the fluid in the neck is not bubbling it is just sitting still. Do I need to suck some more fluid down into the system or is the pump burnt up? Any help would be appreciated.
On a side note this is the first time I have been on this forum in about a year. Hope everyone is doing great!

Just took it down the road and got on it a little bit. Now the intercooler neck is empty again. Is it possible that the system just needs more fluid before the pump will start pumping?
I dont think I have a leak. My buddy had to put a new head on my car in February because I broke the timing chain and bent the valves. I think he just did not fill it.
well hopefully I figure this out I am broke!

Jump the relay for it (30 & 87 opposite corners IIRC), that's the best way to check it with the car off. Simple.
Mine is HPTuned to run with "key on" so I always keep an eye on it, since everyone in this area has replaced theirs because they due tend to go out 50k'ish from local and personal experience.
I've replaced 3 personally, one being mine. Also know of a local smart enough to successfully rebuild them, it's no walk in the park but installed two of his units on the most recent.

I noticed that mine actually went out the other day, and I just did the hammer trick for a bit..but mine ended up being the brushes on the electric motor on the pump that were worn out beyond belief.. Went to a local Ace Hardware store and got some brushes for 3.47 a piece and spent like maybe 2 hours of labor total from start to finish..works like a champ now.. ill find the how to i used and post it up..it was pretty simple

go under the hood. find and pull the pump relay, take a papper clip or a pice of wire with the ends stripped and stick it in the socket were pin 87 and 30 would go. this will kick the pump on without the car running. you should be able to hear it running if its working.
If you are putting fluid in and you cant see it gushing bubbling or moving you can be 99.9% sure the pump isnt running. Air lock is unlikly due to the location of the pump and its desing.
