Did you change the plugs? This doesn't sound good.

2.7" and GM Stage kit - good idea or not?

A little off topic, but is a 2.70" pulley safe to run with GM Stage kit on a daily basis? I've been hearing different stories. Anybody running smaller than a 2.8 with their GM Stage kit out there???

I woul dbe cautious with a 2.7 and stage kit without something like an interceptor to watch the numbers....

You remove your negative cable from your battery that's in the trunk for 3 minutes and then put it back on. Done!

What if I swap in the 2.8 for the stage 2 pulley when I have my dealer install. Will the reflash automatically recognize this or do I still have to unplug the negative?

After the tech installs the 2.8" pulley let him do the normal reflash first and then do the PCM reset. Unplug the negative to your battery for 3 minutes and plug it back in. That should do it. The reflash is just calabrating new air/fuel and other little fixes like sporadic idle while the A/C is on and what not.

exactly the reset of the pcm is necessary to allow the pcm to make new adjustments for the smaller pulley compared to the 3"

Not saying this is wrong, but I had different experience this past weekend. Was using a 650 lb impact wrench and a puller tool to no avail. I'm going to try a press next, but can't figure how the next pulley is going to go on if it is just as hard to replace. Any ideas? Dealers are ignorant around here I guess cause they can't help me. I posted in the below thread too, but reply here too i don't care.

Oh and where are the original bolts on the pulley??? I don't have any. Am I blind as a bat cause I was pulling on that thing for 30 minutes. Are you talking about the supercharger casing bolts?

Mike taking the pulley off the 1st time I would definitely recommend a press 20t would do it, also if you are installing stg 2, then your original pulley is replaced with a black hub and a pulley ring that is held to the hub with 4 bolts, these bolts are what you remove to attache the new 2.8" ring to the hub.

Be careful you dont screw the threads up in the snout of the s/c use anti seize on whatever you screw in there for lube

Thats what Im referring to so let me reword..

How to I get the hub with 4 bolts on the the shaft with a press? All the directions say is remove pulley with press. OK, thats easy. Then they say install new pulley with press and makes sure not to apply force to the supercharger casing. This step is what I'm talking about. I'm guessing I have to use the threads in the SC shaft to somehow pull the shaft through the new hub, but a normal press can't help with that. What the heck do I do?

OH, putting it ON, lol

You put it on with an installer tool, GM recommends an alternator pulley installer, but a lot have used 3rd party install tools for s/c's
