help with piston selection
ok i just burnt the rings up in my 07 ss sc. im running a 2.5 pulley on my m62 with nos and many supporting mods. i burnt up the stock rings cuz i was to lazy to rip the engine apart and upgrade all that. so now im paying for it. lol so wat pistons and rings r good out there. thank u
well i hope its the rings i only have 40,000 miles on it and it blows the dip stick out and started smoking last night. if anyone has some info on that i haven't done any testing yet but that wat im thinking
well a dipstick popping out is the first sign of a busted ring land the reason you need to get the bores checked for taper and roundness is if they arent strait and round and the block needs bored (i wouldent go over .010) then the stock bore pistons you have wont work and that is money you have just pissed away because then youll have to buy an oversized set along with rings and not to mention if you dont check things out and assemble the engine more then likely you will just have an oil burner
on another note the bores need to be prepped properly by being honed with the ring manufacturer grit specs on the bores and they need to be clean and do not use synthetic oil in the engine for 500 to a 1000 miles

well i did a leak down test last night and all the cylinders tested fine but wen i pulled the surcharger and intake manifold i found a little tear in the gasket between a oil hole and a intake port. and a **** load of oil in the manifold and. i have the spacer that spacerthat should help with the heat sink. the gaskets that came with the spacer were different than stock. so i ordered a new gasket new plugs im gona port the surcharge and change its oil while im waiting for the gasket. ill let u all know how it goes. thanks for all help with my problem
