I guess paying $100 to find the problem is better than started to buy parts and guessing what it might be. I just dont know enough about my car yet to say for sure what it is.
exactly. if u have a little money then no sense in stressing urself out. and ya sometimes dealers are **** about intakes, but im sure this is a TSB at the dealer so i doubt the intake will even be considered. while ur at the dealer, tell them to check ur VIN number to see if u have any recalls that havent been done yet while ur at it. couldnt hurt.

Bummer. Im just surprised I couldnt find the same noise or problem on the forums anywhere. So far ive been able to find everything just by searching. Ill let you know what the diagnosis is.

ha well i mentioned 07metallicSC because he is literally the ONLY person ive seen say he had that issue, and it interested me. but kindof a bummer to see that he didnt really find the solution other than driving when its cold out ha.

and ya definitely check if any recalls have been done.

Ya.. Cold or not if my car sounds like someone threw some ball bearings in my engine I cant just ignore it. Really glad this website exists so i can learn about all the hiccups of the SS/SC and pass my knowledge down to others after I've fixed the problem down the road.

ive recently noticed my car ticking pretty loudly. and im assuming thats my issue too but i can't afford to spend like, ANY money right now. So ill have to wait to do it.

And OP, i agree. i LOVE having this site at my disposal. I just go into threads and read and all of a sudden i know a symptom of a problem, what the problem is, what causes the problem, and the solution to the problem. in most cases anyways... its great to have a community of people to help u.

ha o trust me id do it myself too, i dont trust dealers personally cause ive worked at them. Some guys r just not good mechanics, but thats a whole different story.

I got laid off from toyota a few months back and basically have no money. ha the worst part is, my boss called me to come back and work 2 times, but he was SUCH A DICK when i worked there. Like literally the biggest dick ive ever met. but he called me back so i went in to talk to him and he said i do good work and he never had issues with me, and then he proceeded to tell me that he was gonna hire me back for 60 days. so i told him ill think about it and never called him back. now im currently workin on getting a job at chevy so. =] sorry for the life story, its nice to vent. and sorry for thread jacking a bit there OP.

well im only 21 years old so havent been in the field for too long. but my brothers been a mechanic for close to 10 years now so i was always hangin with him when he did side work and stuff so i know an ok amount. but god damn. there is to much to know ha. u learn something about cars EVERYDAY! the guys that i think know everything about cars even say that they'll never know everything. but i love cars and love working on them. i like helping people as much as i can but im very careful that if i dont know something or im unsure of something i wont make it sound like i do know it. like alot of people out there.

and my boss was a super douche. I dented a locker in the changing room at the shop one day by punching it because he fired me for having a cigarette on company time... and he had been bugging me like, the whole week so i lost it when he told me in fired, for a cigarette. then 10 minutes later my boss that was above him told me to relax and come back to work. and the worst part was there were like 4 people having a cigarette with me and he picked me outta the group. he didnt like me from day one.

and i did construction for like 2 years with my buddies dad who owns a construction company and, if there is a job thats as phyiscally or more physically tiring than being a mechanic its construction ha. its good to know that stuff too tho. and i think to be honest, as u get older its definitely better to know that field. ull meet people and work with people that do anything, from electricians to plumbers to landscapers and other **** too. but they're good people to know.

I'm 21 too you're lucky to have family members that knowabout this stuff . I only know a neighbor that works at a mech shop but the thing I hate about him is that he is too careless most of the time as in he don't really care if he scratches ur paint or if things are torqued properly.... And thatgs a thumbs down
Wow that's a di ck, and I'm glad I don't get treated like that. Ppl have respect for me cuz I'm cool I hate bosses like urs ...

There are a few positions that would be great if out of all your friends and family someone held these positions; Doctor, lawyer, accountant, contractor, and a mechanic most importantly. Probably five of the most important careers that will help you out year after year.

hahahaha! i like the people respect u cause ur cool comment. and ya worst boss ive had in the 4 jobs ive had in my life.

and trust me... i know alot of techs that are like that. i guess my brother taught me well because ive been complimented on it many times. im very organized with my tools and work area, and i make SURE that i dont get the car im working on all dirty and i clean off any oil or lubricant or watever it may be even tho its in a spot u wont even see and i try to do things the correct way. the sad thing is. the worst tech i had ever seen as far as being neat and respecting other peoples cars was the head tech at toyota. he took sooo many short cuts it wasnt even funny.

WOW! ha were thread jacking bad here. OP im looking forward to hearing what ur issue endd up being man
