help! unresponsive obd port?

help! unresponsive obd port?

i went to a mechanics house to day to get my cel cleard form gutting my cat. when he hooked the scanner to the ss nothing happened? the scanner didnt even recognize that it was hooked to a car. what would cause this and how do i fix it? fuse? any help appreciated!!

Should be a fuse under the hood. I'd make sure to check that.

GM frequently uses the cigarette lighter fuse as the same fuse for OBDII, make sure you check that

i think the fuse is under the center stack, the access pannel is on the passenger side.

so changing the cig lighter fuse should fix cig lighter and obd? but nothing has been plugged into my cig lighter for a while and the cig lighter still works cause it gets hot

something similar happened to me, but it wasnt a fuse, it was just a loose wire. i had to plug the scanner in then literally push down on the odb2 port for it to recognize it was plugged in, then had to hold it there while it was being scanned. kinda sucked lol.

my interceptor should b here tommorrow or tuesday so its not gonna work til i fix the fuse either.. urgh.

ok last question, i dont have the owners manual for my car and the panel has nothing but abbreviations for the fuses. does anyone know what number fuse, or what the abbreviation is?
