I had mine done under warranty on my SS/SC so cant give you a dollar amount . If I would have had to pay to replace it I would have done it myself for sure . Some people just unscrew the old one out of the back of the head and screw the new one in and have no problems at all ....... they must get lucky when the tensioner activates itself at the first engine start .....and stays in alignment .

The correct way to replace it is to take the valve cover off ( u can reuse the VC gasket ) , then remove and install the new tensioner ...... the new one will come in the collapsed position so once it's in you need to tap it to activate the tensioner.

Just so you know ....GM redesigned the tensioner back in late 06 because of the issues they were having with the old design .... so if you do it yourself and see they are different do worry about it .

yea i didnt see the video
but im assuming its a clicking noise that clicks clicks clicks when you start your car up when its cold but then goes away after a couple of minutes once its warm
alot of people say its the timing tensioner but theyre wrong
if it is that problem as i explained its actually your exhaust manifold gasket
parts about 20 bucks
the dealership will do it for 100 bucks i got mine done clicking gone
THANK GOD cause it only gets worse with time and its sooo anoying
