With enough money anything is possible.......... period! if you want to run 20:1 it can happen, how deep is your wallet? If you/or buddy can't build your own engine then don't take anyone's advice on this message board.

christ if he had just put it like that we wouldnt be here

11:1 with boost is reasonable goal which can be done quite easily. It really depends on your power goal on which way to go. Making decent power with the M62 will require higher compression to keep the blower in its effiecieny range. On 93 octane, don't be expecting numbers that will be that great. You will at least need E85 or 110 or high octane rating gas to make the power. High compression + low boost is the way to go if you don't mind the reduction of power for daily driving or have deep pockets for fuel.

you sure about that? the CR is worth noting, yes, but don't say displacement doesn't matter

troof. thats a 10% increase in displacement...which could very well relate to a 10% increase in power (or more, since more displacement = less boost at the same CFM, which means less compression and heat generated)

well, in the context he was referring to, the 3.5 vs the 3.7 v6's in the nissan 350z/370z

not quite 10% but you're on the right on the money

sorry, let me rephrase...its not going to make that much of a difference. iiunno about other cars but between the 3.5L 350z and the 3.7L 370Z there is a 26bhp increase. Not all 26hp is coming from the .2L of a difference, maybe 8-10bhp. And with that much bhp you might see 1.5whp increase

so 8-10 bhp means 1.5whp? so a stock LNF should put down just above 45whp?
lol
8-10bhp is 7-8whp roughly.. All factors are relevant, and in a boosted application, displacement increases serve several functions that i listed above, and count for even more.

I was kinda wondering about that 8-10 bhp makes 1.5 wheel hp thing too lol

meh whatever....numbers arent exact, i suck at math, ill admit that. But the point still stands when it comes to the 350's and 370's displacement. The 26bhp didnt all come from the .2L increase.

26 hp comes by way of increased displacement and a small increase in compression. 10.3 for the 3.5L vs 11.0 for the 3.7L

displacement does matter. you're putting roughly a 6% increase

troof. 6% increase with about 300bhp from the 3.5l makes 18 more hp

is this stating that the g37s have 11-1 compression ratio?
