high idle problem 03 srt4

hey this isn't related to my car, but it is related to my gf's 2003 srt4. when stopped it idles fine but the second i go above 5 mph it idles at 3k rpm. i can coast and not have it in gear and it will just sit in between 2500 and 3000. only thing that i could possibly think of was maybe a vacuum leak and the computer is freaking cuz of it? any thoughts?

not too sure, maybe something wrong with the throttle body?

this shouldnt be in the LSJ section, should be moved to off topic

is it idle surging in neutral above 5 mph or just hanging? If it just hanges the lsj does the same thing, I think with the lsj its just so the clutch doesnt have to slip all the was up to the wheel speed, sorta like a psuedo rev-match

I can actually chime in here lol...

99% of the time it is related to the throttle position sensor. Its not the sensor itself that fails, its the wiring that goes into the sensor. Have her start the car and sit in it, then you locate the TPS sensor wiring. Wiggle it around a bit and see if you can hear the idle change. If you, thats your issue.

Dodge actually sells a TPS rewire kit that goes for no more than $15 if I remember correctly.

ok will do i will have to check it out. it is weird, today like not even an hour after i posted about it i drove it and it did the same thing i was saying. Then after i got done grocery shopping with my gf i got in it and started it. I started driving and the problem was gone...i will have to wiggle it around to make sure but she says it does it a lot so time to do some problem solving
