So you are telling me you are going to come and smash the 1/4 record with your "Z06 Killer"? LOL.

I will be there with or without my car, depends on if I get the trans rebuilt by then.

Yes 500whp, sounds about right. Nowhere near sleeve failure range though. My guess is the M62 was making more heat than power and the HTV was running too much timing under boost. When you have good pistons, rods, crank, bearings, head gasket, head studs, valves, etc the next weakest link is the sleeves.

Enough said. Thank you.

Then why are you talking about me needing sleeves lol.

What's the 1/4 record thus far on an HTV, BIG slicks, a 100-150 shot, and VP import fuel?

What "milage" do these things start to severely wear at?

Lol, that's a good question too. About the only thing you can do to destroy cast iron sleeves is PHYSICAL contact or cylinder temps that reach it's melting point lol.

Now I agree the Darton MID sleeves are a great idea because they turn the motor into a closed deck, helping to hold more boost, but there is just no need unless you are talking about 1000hp cars.

Did your crank walk? Did you stroke your block? Too much side loading will also cause that, did someone put your pistons in wrong?

Stock motor.

Getting on the car before it hits full temps will also do that.

Agreed. But that is not a reason to add new sleeves. I still have yet to see anyone post a viable reason for new sleeves on anything less than a full drag or endurance motor.
