honing out stock headers

honing out stock headers

My friend who works for GM says I can hone out my stock headers and save $200 bucks.. he said the after market GM header, is a stock one honed out.. should i listen to him and let him hone it out for me or just buy another header??

yea i saw that its the stock header honed out.. my friend said he could hone it out for me and save me like 200 bucks i think im gunna do that

Exactly, unless you someone I would recomend just getting the GM honed manifold.

The GM performance manifold is extrude honed. GM sends them to the company 9or maybe GM has the equipment), has the work done, and then sells them as the performance part.

Because it enlarges and smooths the entire length of the header, there is no way that can be done with a grinder.

Unless you buddy has access to the extrude hone process.

lol, the honing that they do is with a really odd sort of cloth that they drag through it. having it done normally costs a few dollars.
