Hooray, first CEL.
Hooray, first CEL.
First happened yesterday, all I have is stage 2, injen cai. Other things like strut bar I don't think need to be mentioned.
Anyways, only seems to happen when I really get on it after work. Yesterday I pull out of the parking lot and onto the long straight away like i'm trying to escape a tornado, before I was out of 2nd gear the CEL came on. I got home and did the battery trick and it went off.
Babied the car to work this morning and all is fine. Just got off work, and again pulled out of the parking lot and did the same thing, and got the same results.
Not sure what's making it pop up, maybe I need to look around the forums and find out how to make a code display?
(Premium Gas being used as it has been for the whole 9,000 miles on the car).

I think that I was getting a CEL because I took a look at my intake the other day and the screws were missing from the MAF sensor, it was just sitting there. You might want to check that.

Sorry I've been away for a while.
Yeah, this time the CEL just went off on its own.
the 1st CEL occurance I didn't let the car warm up, the 2nd I let it warm up for like 20 minutes.
Thanks for the reccomendation for plugs, maybe i'll try those.

Instead of pulling the battery cables try pulling the PCM Fuse in the underhood fuse panel for 5 minutes. It will completely clear the adaptive memory of the PCM only and you wont have to reset all the radio and other memory functions. If you dont wait the full 5 minutes you will have some codes retained which will cause another CEL.
Cool, will do this weekend. It doesn't seem to come on until 7,000 rpm's.
The people at discount auto parts used their hand held reader to re-set it, so it's not on now, Will still check though.

Same code I got-same situation. Its because the sensor is only meant to read up to like 10,000 or 11,000 Htz. Any more and it throws a code. GM service manuals say to check for water in the intake because it can make the sensor read high. It is your cold air intake that is doing it. It just flows too much cold air and might allow a slight amount of moisture to accumulate on the sensor.
Discussed in https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l-lsj-performance-tech-47/after-stage-2-car-falls-flat-its-face-when-shifting-21928/
but an update for anyone that reads, my injen filter was laying on its side, (thankfully didn't fall off of the plastic bottom and out on the road), but I attached it back to the tube, and it got rid of: choppy acceleration, car almost stalling when shifting to 2nd and 3rd the 1st time in the morning, and no more check engine light at 7k rpms.
