how many stages?
just a quick question... how many stage kits are there out there? I know that GM has the stage 2 kit with the shorter pulley and the bigger fuel injectors, but I'm hearing alot of talk about stage 3, stage 4, and stage 5 kits... can someone fill me in on how many acttual stage kits there are lol and also the gains that you get with them besides the stage 2 kit. oh and one more thing where can I find the 2.75 pulley instead of the pulley that comes with the stage 2 kit I'd like more boost please
2.75 is a mistake. you'll burn that supercharger out before you even knew what kind of power you had. the sc is pretty much at it's limit as it stands. one thing you would want to invest in before even thinking about going any smaller than a 3" are cooling mods. heatexchanger, water/meth injection...etc etc.

There is so many variables. Cooling and the tune are the bigger ones. Every time you go smaller on the pully size, you are running your supercharger at faster speeds. That just shortens the life of the charger no matter how you look at it.
all i have is injectors, a tune and a CAI
Ya, I bet your supercharger's life expectancy will last as long as a stocks. If your beating the **** out of your car, That supercharger is not liking you. You might just be the exception with a 2.5. What kind of hp are you getting with a 2.5
not saying it isnt. I'm just saying that the life expectancy of the charger drops drastically every time you run a smaller pully. 2.5 is getting pretty darn small, and I bet your really pushing the limits of the charger.
yea the lack knowledge on here surprises me.. for one u can go all the way to a stage 6 and expect close to 300hp/290tq... but dude it doesnt sound like u know enough as of now to do that.. to me it just isnt a smart move on your part to get the highest stage kit when u really know nothing about the kits.. it can be very easy to **** everything up on your car without proper tuning and the proper parts and the GM stage 3 states tha it is an off-road kit only.. yes u can still get it but it's not under warranty for a reason..

here is a free tip to all. Don't buy stage kits, make your own and find someone who can tune or learn how to.
luck has nothing to do with it, its in the tune and the driver.
ya, unless you know how to do your own tuning, don't just go to the top stage kit. A lot of them are can tunes, and they are not tuned for your exact car. They are good starting points, but they definitely need to be tweaked for other variables. Weather, elevation, and other mods to name a few.

if you want numbers on gains go to Coablt-addiction.com and check out their stage kits. they post numbers
sorry, thats Cobalt-addiction.com
my advice, get stage two from gm, and get a private shop to retune it (minor tweaks) other than that, enjoy the power this car puts out already
