How Much was Your Cobalt SS S/C?

Just wondering, I didn't find any posts...I am in research in what car I want to buy, they vary a decent amount...the only thing holding me back from buying the WRX is insurance... So decently powered FWD forced inducted cars are my top choice then...just wondering, what is the best deal you guys got wtih your 2.0l cobalt? With g35(i think it is called) the seats and limited slip....I just think starting at 22k...its overpriced...the GTI has a way better interior, WAY better...both look good outside...both perform about the same...the GTI has nice chip upgrades...for 600 easily get 25whp and 40wtq...amazing. But the intense kits are really nice for the price also!!!

Thanks

ok first it's the G85. Second for $600 on the 'Balt you can get a stage 2 GM kit and up your 'Balt to around 241whp. Third $22k for a FI car is overpriced? With Recaro racing seats (although not on the '07 from what I understand), limited slip diff, a Saab 9-5 tranny with shortened shift throws, moonroof, 7 speaker Pioneer 240w stereo w/ 10"sub, XM, On-star, and all the trimmings basically?

I would rather pick up a slightly used one seeing how resale is pretty bad on these, and the Redlines are horrible. Moonroof? I dont need one, dont need leather, dont need Xm or onstar, 240whp and 240wtq stage 2? Any dynos , from a good # of ppl, not one or two...? Cuz damn thats good. I was thinkin instense stage 4 for 650 get a good 260whp and wtq....The only thing i hold against the cobalt is the interior...Im so upset they kept to the american way...crappy interior... Rims are great, tailend is sexy, great curves, GREAT tone!! I love the pop with aftermarket exhausts....

Anyone off the top of their head know how the SS handles compared to a GTI? I would think the SS would take it...I heard brakes fade though..

OH OH!!!Is the clutch the same as it used to be? 1-2nd gear hammer on it it slips for a second? Or? Just people need to drive betteR?

thanks again

ryuu nice posts. very nice.

ahhh those g6s are blah, super heavy, weak v6 power. aura...its a saturn...they are finally lookin better...but hows build quality? my mom has a eclipse gt...hard to see out the back, heavy...tq steer, goooooood interior...but blah insurance, SS, just the interior i have gripes about...GTI is a great overall car...i dont have any faults with it ....redline...build quality and looks...the altima looks awesome!!!! specially the coupe! inside and out! 24k for v6...6speed, 265 hp or so...great deal. MSP3...ehhh...pretty good, insurance quotes arent in for me...toyota...nah, its a toyota...wrx I want the most but interior kinda blah and insurance :P

I did my research...every car has its points...and not so good points...top cars for under 25k in my opinion...NOT in order

GTI
Cobalt SS s/c
WRX
Altima
Fiat panda(not in usa though )
Civic Si(stupid rice tone though)

just my opinion though :P

I would probably buy a SS asap if i got the g85 with the car for a nice lil 21k...

Used is good, got mine for $17,900 with 11k miles on the clock.

You have to have either leather or Recaro's with the SS/SC and Recaro's come with the G85 (a must IMO). Most SS/SC that I have seen have the moonroof although you can get away without the onstar or XM(love my sat. radio).

As for the Dyno numbers, I don't think it makes 240wtq but look at peoples sigs. that is a low whp number for the stage 2 for most people. And the stage 2 retains factory warranty. You can do better with the aftermarket if warranty is not a concern for you.

Oh and those numbers I posted are from MotorTrend I believe and are based on 0-60 and 1/4 mile times

recaro's are still an option for '07. however the difference is, you can now get limited slip w/o recaro's, and vice versa.... they have split up the g85 option into 2 seperate options. trust me... i know... look at my name. lol
as for the rest of the post, i agree 100% this guys a tool, and obviously hasn't been to a chevy dealer yet. i bet i could sell him an ss s/c for $26,000 after his test drive. but then again, i can sell ***** to the queer eye dudes

The recaros are awesome, I didnt try em in the SS but in the Redline, they are snug fit me perfect! Of course I want lsd. I have seen some decently used SS for 18k or so....not bad. I would like to get rid of the wing...should have a wing delete option...but then if I do it...got to fill in the holes...pfff I don't have the equipment, and it isnt cheap...
