HP Tuners Limit Boost In Second?

I have an 07 ss/sc and am going to go stage 2 with full exhaust in the spring. I was a little concerned about traction considering it is already a liuttle sketchy. Can you use HP to limit boost in any gear?

There is a parameter to limit boost in second but it affects boost in 3rd 4th and 5th as well, even though HPT says it shouldn't. The parameter to change boost in 1st gear only affects 1st however.

So that means if you limit 2nd to 13 pounds or so your other gears will be at the same?

I did it on an '06 which limits boost by percentage. I set the value to 50% and it went right to 100kpa max in second (0psi) and did the same for 3rd 4th and 5th. If you read the tooltip description for the value you change, it says it will only affect second gear, but its not correct on our PCMs as it affects others as well.

On my 06 I just have boost limited in 1st, and that pretty much solves my traction issues. I wouldnt mess with 2nd-5th you should be fine with full boost.

Better way to do it in an 06+ is to use Torque Management. Limiting it by % will vary depending on atmospheric conditions. If you use TQ management it will be consistent every time, and also varies boost and timing to reach desired effects.

Now thats something I haven't tried. As NoRemorse said, there is a desired torque value for each gear. That may work for limiting boost in second gear and second gear only. I know for a fact though that the Max Boost (2nd gear) value does not work correctly.
