Hp Tuners Worth it for Beginners?
I was interested in geting HP TUNERS but currently i have no mods on my vehicle. Could their still be tuning done to improve the effeciency of the car or is it only for when you put extensive mods on your vehicle? Also i dont know a whole lot about the mechanics of cars. Mostly just what i learned on here ( which is a whole lot thx guys! )
So my question is, at this point would it be worth it to invest in HP tuners or not?
I heard its one of the best mods you can get for these cars to get the best response from modding.

no templates, but it is great software. One important thing to remember that baby steps are the key to using programming software. Only make small changes. Big changes make thigns go bang. It would help with your stock tune, I can honestly say this after looking at some irregularities in fuel maps and other things. But you will get the greatest benefit out of it after adding some things to the car.

read that book, frequent the HPTuner forums and read the book again.
One thing to keep in mind, superchips is out of central florida...
superchips and hptuners work with each other...

Our help files are also available online:
http://www.hptuners.com/help/
Keeping them up to date is a continual challenge as we add more vehicle support.
For legal reasons we are limited to explaining what certain things do rather than explicitly saying how to modify various parameters.
Hope that helps,
Chris...

i would rather leave the hptuners realm to the professionals. .... with some practice i have no doubt i could get a grasp on hptuners..... it just seems like a more sound investment to have someone with experience and knowledge tune your car.

but i'm gonna try!!!
The HP softwear doesnt come with a "template" per say but the softwear give decripions of each paramiter and what it does before you click on it so thats some what helpfull.
if you can find somebody around you that knows what there doing...at least a little bit even if they've tuned differant engines becasue the basic ideas and rules of tuneing dont change!!!
also if you can get some local guys in on the purchise(sp?) so the cost can be split between ya'll...then use that money you saved by doing that to buy some dyno time and do some real tuneing!

you would use the HP softwear to do that custom dyno tune!!!
the dyno tells you what your car is doin and u use the sofwear to make the car do what you want!
that can take a while tho and dyno time is not cheep!!! and geting that last 2-3 hp is always the hard part!!!
your cost for such a thing is going to depend on how much a local dyno shop will change per pull or per hour.

here is a silly response...... copy the parameters someone else used with the same year of vehicle and mods.... this should do just fine. If you are stock copy a stock config....

After watching my vehicle get tuned last night I think this software is great as long as it is in the right hands. As a beginer I don't think you would be able to do much with it, I sure wouldn't have been able to. I think the best bet is to find someone in your area that has some tuning knowledge and work with them on getting your car tuned.
