Hydro Shield

gettin an intake soon and i know a kid who totaled his car cuz his intake got wet from hitting a puddle. does anyone know if the hydro shield is worth it and if it has any effect on the HP gains on the intake?

what kinda car and intake do you have? dont think the hydroshield causes any hp loss

I had one on mine when I was stationed in Wyoming. I would say it was worth it. I don't think it really affects performance.

dont have the intake yet scoopin it soon though and i jus wanna see if anyone has thoughts on the hydro shield and its probs gonna be injen CAI

Yes, get the damn hydroshield. I mean, is it worth the risk of totaling your car due to not having a 20$ shield? Don't be dumb. Buy the shield. You'll make the money back from MAF sensors you'll ruin without it.

I have it and I will tell you its saved my ass 2 times with floods in this area.

It's not.

Def. get the hydroshield. Better safe than sorry. I have always had a hydroshield on my car, and have been through some intense rain storms w/o any issues. The hyrdroshield is also good for keeping the filter cleaner for a longer period of time. You will not notice any significant horsepower loss from a hyrdroshield.
