Unhappy Idel problem

ok im new to the world of cobalts and to the forum i just baught a used 2006 ss/sc and had a bad ticking problem at start up when it was cold so i researched and most every body told me the same thing so i replaced the chain tensioner about a week ago and did not fix the problem but when i took the valve pan cover off i noticed a lot of sludge in the tod of the motor and i am thinking that the girl who had it befor me did not ever change tne oil and it has 45k on it so maybe i have a blocked oil passage to 1 of the liffters and it takes a min for the oil to thin out and get to the lifter becuase it does not do it if it above 5o degrees out side or if u have had the car started in the last 3 hours so now my question is can it be a liffter or somethign else and now when i frist start the car it has a rough idel foe about 2 minets then goes away and the idel and ticking have no connection becuse sometimes it will tick and rough idel for a min or 2 and some times it does not tick and stills has a rough idel for a min or 2 can some 1 please help thanks richie

im not going to sea foam it cuz it will break it all up and then i will need to tear the whol block down to clean it out this is what the gm tech told me and i am all so loosing anti freez so im thinking that coolant is leaking into 1 of the cylinder over night or over a long period of time this is cusing the rough idealing at start up then it continues way after a few seconds cuz today i noticed some white smoke at start up.

seafoam breaks it up.. so that you can drain it out.. that's the point..

Sounds like a head gasket gone bad, or melted piston rings possibly. Moisture is usually what causes sludge in oil, some cars get it worse than others. But with the coolant going low, that is what makes me say blown head gasket. The ticking could be bad lifters and rocker arms, thats what caused ticking in mine, I bent them because I accidentally threw it into 2nd from red line in 3rd. So most likely this girl ran the ***** off the car and ran it hard cold. My friend ran his sc cobalt hard when it was cold and melted piston rings. He thought he had a bad supercharger gasket, but i pulled it and it was sucking slude through the breather hose into the intake/tb/supercharger/intake mani, etc.
