If you unplugged the battery it'll idle like that. Otherwise you prob have a vacuum leak or broke something related to the drive by wire system...

low idle to idle spike.

Ok, I have read most the thread, cleaned throttle body and what not. Good strong battery and alternator, with clean connections. Have 06 SS/SC stage 3 by GM standards. Slightly smaller pulley on SC then recommended. Only 36k miles. When the weather is warm it runs better but still can happen. When weather is cold, its almost constant. Idle runs really low then spikes up to round 1500 then bounces its way back to low and spikes again. sometime stalls. Plugs checked and gauged, run premium fuel, just dont know what to do now, any ideas at what is causing this or to try next? I do have a transmission fluid leak that i am aware of, but don't see how this could have anything to do with it. Thanks for feedback. Oh! runs smooth and steady with throttle on or while just coasting at low rpms just does this while idling in neutral or coasting at any speed in neutral. I have noticed that the faster I coast, the higher the rpm can spike on the bounce and the more frequent it spikes. if that helps narrow any ideas down. Thanks again sorry for the book.

Sorry runs smooth while coasting at low rpms in any gear ^ but idle lowers and spikes while coasting in neutral if that was not clear.

I would suggest O2 sensors, my idle issues recently returned even with brand new injectors and other sensors. Only ones not replaced were O2 sensors, the primary was replaced last fall, so we replaced the secondary and issue ceased.

I got my '06 SS/SC a few months ago with 80k on it. It had a crappy, surgy idle, and even stalled a few times. I cleaned the TB as suggested, and voila!, cured. Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together.

I have an update on mine as well. Someone else suggested to me elsewhere in the forums about secondary o2 sensors. I have not done this yet but will soon and let every know if that helped. Thanks for the suggestion.

mine was doing this so bad, people thought i was trying to race at lights and showing off, car would stall every third or fourth light, it was bad, took my intake off, had a bunch of grease and oil inside , had alot in the tb also, cleaned both of them, car runs like a charm now, doesnt jump, no stalling, gas mileage is much better, easy 30 min job

I know this thread is still going on and i must post my story about my idle problem and car stalling like every 2 minutes at every red light. Well i cleaned my TB i cleaned the supercharger, i cleaned everything, i installed new O2 sensors(both), new plugs and coil packs and still would not fix the idle. Check your MAF sensor, mine was simply that and has been running great since. My 2006 cobalt has about 60,000 miles on it and thats when mine went but make sure to check that sensor, the only way i found out it was that was from my girlfriends father. Hes a big time Ford and GM mechanic, and he came up once and looked at it and found out it was that.

I cleaned my throttle body last week and it is much better than it was before because it no longer drops low and bounces back up again, buuuut..... Now I have the same problem as you are having in the video where my rpms are hanging around 1500-1700 when I clutch in or pull it out of gear.. Not really sure what the problem is so if anyone else has any ideas to how to fix this that would be great!
