I'm getting a new PCM

I'm getting the ZZP 1.0 PCM, theres one in my car already, but i think its dead-ish. When you're ordering it, it asks what year is the car, engine size, etc.

How do you find out which super charger you have? m62 or the TVS, which one is better?

How can you tell if it has meth injection? How does this affect performance?

If the throttle body is stock or is it the LS4? Whats different about the LS4?

Whats full time E85? How does this affect performance?

And I'd imagine that my intake is the 3 inch ZZP, because everything else under the hood is ZZP. But I'd like to check to be sure, how do you get to the filter? it goes behind the driver side head light. But I haven't Physically seen it yet, any easy way to get to it?

And is 50% boost reduction in first better or worse, i feel like if you need boost reduction, you dont know how to drive with a SC. Any thoughts on that?

I bought this car exactly like it is, and I'm still learning about it. I'm changing my clutch out, and my engine bay is relatively easy to poke around in right now, so if i have to identify something from a weird angle, now would be the time to do it.

Thanks

if your car is stock, i believe its the M62.

In other words, if you haven't swapped your supercharger since you bought it, its most likely a M62

did you buy the car modded? because if not you should know what mods are on your car. m62 is the stock supercharger and tvs is an bigger supercharger u can get from vendors/members. if you dont have a tvs/meth/or ls4 throttle body on your car don't add them to your tune, as for as the boost reduction, i say get it to help with traction when you launch the car. also check to see what intake u have.

Yup. Don't judge what you don't know about. It's pretty clear you have a lot of learning to do about your car. Making the people who could help you out pissed off by making comments like that? Not smart.

I didn't mean any harm, i just feel like its more of a crutch, idk, i just like being in control on the car not the computer. call me old fashioned. Anyways, i did buy the car modded, from a guy who buys repossessed from banks and re sells them. so i never met the guy who modded, so i couldn't ask him what he did to it. again, sorry if i upset you about the boost reduction comment

How do you find out which super charger you have? m62 or the TVS, which one is better? m62 is stock. TVS is an upgraded, larger SC. Different shapes for the two. Google them and you can see the difference in pictures.

How can you tell if it has meth injection? How does this affect performance? A little more difficult to determine as there are several different delivery methods. A sprayer before the throttle body is a possibility. And a nozzle in a spacer after the SC is possible. But unless you're refilling a tank on your car with a water/meth mix, you don't have meth injection.

If the throttle body is stock or is it the LS4? Whats different about the LS4? LS4 is bigger than stock. Other than that, you can't really tell a difference iirc.

Whats full time E85? How does this affect performance? Do you fill your gas tank with e85 at every fill up? If not, don't go for this option.

And I'd imagine that my intake is the 3 inch ZZP, because everything else under the hood is ZZP. But I'd like to check to be sure, how do you get to the filter? it goes behind the driver side head light. But I haven't Physically seen it yet, any easy way to get to it? Go measure it. Simple solution.

And is 50% boost reduction in first better or worse, i feel like if you need boost reduction, you dont know how to drive with a SC. Any thoughts on that? With these cars, under heavy acceleration, they tend to break the tires loose in the first couple gears. First especially. A reduced boost pressure in first will guarantee you put the power to the ground instead of destroying a set of tires.

I bought this car exactly like it is, and I'm still learning about it. I'm changing my clutch out, and my engine bay is relatively easy to poke around in right now, so if i have to identify something from a weird angle, now would be the time to do it.

Thanks

Like you I baught my car pre-modded as well.

Best thing to do is go through your engine bay and look at EVERYthing. Are your fuel injectors green? If not they are modded. I had to write down the pn off the injectors and run a google search to find out they are Lucas 42#s. Check the supercharger pulley see if it says what size it is, or measure it, I believe that stock Pulley size is 3.3" Mine says 2.85" right on it. A Smaller pulley means 1 of 2 things. 1: Shorter belt or 2: Larger tensioner. I still to this day have no idea wich I have.

If your intake is plastic and black then it's probably the stock intake. LOTS of pictures of the engine bay would help us help you like the OP said. To get to your Air filter, you have to take off the left front wheel and the left headlight. Then take down the plastic shroud that goes over the left front wheel well.

Also check out the HOW TO section. Keep in mind, if you have the SC, then your engine is the 2.0L LSJ
Ecotec LSJ is the model name of the engine, or just LSJ for short.

It's got 2.8 pulley, 60# injectors. I'll go take some pics. Also is a bigger supercharger better? I'm already pushing 15-16lbs. of boost, anymore and I'd have to upgrade the internal components of the engine right? And thank you utsadude.

Get a custom tune from either HPtuners Or Trifecta. Go buy a wideband as well and replace the post cat sensor and get it turned off (or take off your DP and get a bung welded Lot more difficult than it sounds if no lift). so you can see what your cars doing. also if u have the G85 package u might not need that 50% reduction

It's an m62. That's really all you can tell from that pic tho. You have a mechanical boost gauge and y is there a chain hanging down?
